One, and it's my husband.
This is gonna sound insanely stupid, but I get really afraid that people are gonna laugh at me and say bad things about me if they come to my town. So I don't open my gates very much. It's also the reason I only have 22 friends on my 3DS (about ten of them play ACNL). I know I need more friends to come visit in order to upgrade my stuff, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Aww don't feel that way. Most people will be so grateful to come to your town that they won't even care how many PWPs/hybrids/patterns you have. I've had 300+ visitors and they have never said anything bad about my town.
Even when I chopped down all my trees/bushes and my town was completely barren. People even complimented my town and said it was unique, lol.

I want to try and make more friends on this website, and have them come visit my town. This sort of thing is hard for me, though, but I've become more and more open to the idea thanks to my time here.

A few over a hundred, I used my brothers 3DS and acnl to visit my town to get the train station upgrade, because people can't visit my town usually because it always disconnects
