7-11 Set: isn't it supposed to be rare?

I remember on the early days of ACNL—very few 7/11 sets were in circulation. But now it's like they're in 1/5 of every Closet Clearout, Giveaways, and Retail shops.

Weren't they supposed to be more rare because there are just a few old players left? Such confusion!

They are still rare. The set has a fixed amount of players who have it, unless they dupe. Example, if only 200 people got the set before the promo ended, only 200 7/11 sets are there. But duping is another story..

What about the people who abandon the game with their 7/11 set still in it? I'm pretty sure more than half of the people who got their hands on them are gone.

That won't really affect the rarity and value of the set. If they have it, they have it. Fixed number of sets. Unless they do dupe, then that can affect the rarirt of the item.

But still ... There is this (awesome) giveaway of seven 7/11 sets in Retail. Giving away something so hard to get ... I'm probably not good enough to do that but it makes me wonder how they got seven sets ~~

I got my 7/11 set the day duping was discovered for free HOLLA. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if many sets are duped.

Therefore, rarity and price will go down. Because the easier you can get the set/there are more 7-11 sets, it will turn from rare, to a common set.

It does seem quite a common set now, judging by the amount for sale. I got my full set from a shop here and a few extra bits (extra shirt, counter, a few ABD's etc) from my Japanese friends. I could probably buy several more sets here today if I wanted.

They're obviously duped

Not to say everyone selling/giving them away are necessarily duping them themselves, but most of them were clearly duped somewhere along the line
