5 Star Islands, How Did You Do It? {UPDATE: Hit 5 Stars}

I can not, CAN NOT! get to five stars.

I have furniture placed and I'm still 4 star. I have no weeds, no items on the ground, and all my shops/upgrades. I talk to Isabelle and she goes "you need more Nook Stop stuff" and I do it, then she goes "you need more DIYS' so I'm like ight bet. I do it and then she goes "You need more Nook Stop stuff" again! Is that normal?

Even if you dont got a five star island, Id love to hear your advice <3 Maybe Im missing something?

I had the same thing! Days and days of crafting DIYs, buying furniture from Nooks Cranny and buying nook stop islands, I was so frustrated! But eventually after cycling through everything I finally got 5 stars! It just took a lot of determination and checking with Isabelle... you will get there!!

I got it without even trying. I just built up my island the way I wanted it to be and eventually saw a jacob’s ladder. I was shocked.

Just play normally, how decorated is your town or have you kept it fairly default so far? Once you create a general layout and reserved specific areas for certain features like a campsite, garden area, shopping district, 5* should come naturally. I got mine without even trying for it.

Mine is decorated, I have a outdoor cafe, music area with instruments, hangout zone with the moon and two moon chairs as well as other small items, a fountain with the stone hedge, little area with DIY fruit items, and a small star gazing area with a few itmes :/

it was sooo annoying haha, i've read somewhere that the price of the items you decorate with has an effect too. so expensive items give more points. but idk how accurate that is? to be honest i didnt use a guide i just followed isabelle's word

You might need a certain about of stuff purchased from Nook Miles. Apparently it's not just about furniture, but where you got it from too.

It happened for me randomly, but I attribute it to placing street lamps all around my island as I needed them, but I'm pretty sure it fulfilled the Nook Miles item requirement.

When I got 5 stars I had made so many DIYs and ordered heaps of nookmile items and had roses everywhere and I didn't even know I had 5 stars I only knew when I walked past a jacob's ladder on my cliffs

You might need a certain about of stuff purchased from Nook Miles. Apparently it's not just about furniture, but where you got it from too.

Well, I did the stupid rock quarry trick where people have gotten 5-stars but Isabelle said I had too many trees.

So I removed some trees and gained a 5-star island. Even after removing the mannequins, it's still 5-stars. I don't get it.

I feel like it might be my fences. The only heavily decorated area is this tiki bar lounge but my island is still unfinished.

Isabelle kept telling me to decorate to the nines so I assumed I had to have my island like those ones on the 5 star island tour vids.

But then one day, I got a different message from her about a "Lack of shops" which utterly baffled me. The only thing I could think of was to set up more Stall diys, so I rigged up a beach stand/restaurant. Then the next day, right after I paid off my basement, I checked with Isabelle for grins and all of a sudden I was at 5 stars! My jaw dropped.

so in conclusion, I have NO clue what dictates a 5 star island and I just got lucky.

Congrats! I think the shops is how many times you talk to little shops in the plaza but I may be wrong
