It happened completely on accident for me. I didn't know until I was walking around doing my daily chores and noticed my first lily of the valley. I honestly just took my time to decorate how I liked it, and it naturally just happened!
Mine is decorated, I have a outdoor cafe, music area with instruments, hangout zone with the moon and two moon chairs as well as other small items, a fountain with the stone hedge, little area with DIY fruit items, and a small star gazing area with a few itmes :/
do I have to just buy it or place it too? c:
I have 4 stalls and have 2 hats on each that look like food c: that’s crazy it counts as drops!Probably not the case, but just in case do you happen to have any stalls? I notice people like to drop items on the stalls. If you don't "place" them, those count towards items dropped on the ground.
Otherwise, just keep working on it. You'll get to 5*s eventually, don't stress over it. Keep adding a bit more to your island everyday and you'll get there! It's not even a big deal at the end of the day as it's just a rating![]()
Omg thank you! I’m definitely gonna use this!Nook Plaza has an Island Rating calculator.

I would say the easiest way to get a 5-star is to have a bunch of furniture outside, flowers, and fences.
I just finished and it says I only have 3 stars when I have four in my town, how accurate is it? c:Nook Plaza has an Island Rating calculator.
