I use headphones if I'm playing on my laptop or anything handheld (3DS, Switch in handheld mode, even Wii U's tablet). If it's on the TV, though, then I can't use headphones. My preference in general is actually to use headphones if possible, since it just makes it easier to concentrate on the sounds coming from the game.
I use headphones a lot when I play Xbox. Because, it's in the family room/living room...and if I choose to play it late at night, then I need to be able to hear my games without making a bunch of noise in the house. I actually bought a cheap Amazon basics Xbox controller with a headphone jack built in, just so I could plug headphones into it. That controller has become my main controller...which is funny, because you'd expect a really bad controller for $15, but I love that thing. Lol.
On Switch, I sometimes use headphones if I'm playing in my bed at night. Especially for games like Animal Crossing, which have a considerable amount of ambiance, and auditory cues (you can hear the balloons coming/going, or the fish biting...things like that).
I use headphones when I'm playing the Switch or 3DS/DS in my room. It's not always in my room, but it just usually is.
Serious question: Why does the Gameboy Advance SP not have a headphone jack?
I usually don't wear headphones when gaming as I'm quite jumpy! They're definitely useful for telling where enemies are though (especially for shooters).
I wear headphones when I'm playing FPS games because I want to hear people sneaking up on me. Sometimes I wear earphones when I play Animal Crossing to not annoy the people around me if I bring my 3DS outside
I use headphones when I'm playing handheld, but that's more because of the neighbors disturbing me. Very few of them seem to understand what door handles are for.
For New Horizons I can’t stand to play without the sound effects, so I have a little Bluetooth guy that plugs into my switch and lets me listen to the audio with my AirPods. It plugs into the charge port but allows the charger to pass through, so I can still charge it! It’s the best.
Pc yes cause sound is really important when playing League and esp Valorant and I bought the Razer Kraken Kitty Edition which is just WAAAAY too cute not to use
On the switch, it depends. For NH I don't because after 400+ hours the hourly music can drive you insane but if I'm try harding extreme expert on Project Diva I have to or else my brain wanders off and I start missing notes LOL
Depends. If I'm playing on my 3DS or Switch and I reeeeallly want to focus on the game and not get distracted with my surroundings, then I put in earbuds. Sometimes I listen to music while playing so I'll have them in my phone. But normally I don't play with them in.
I do want some wireless ones for my Switch when I play in TV mode thou.
I don't because my mom calls for me a lot (to help her out, she's disabled) so I need to always be able to hear her calling for me lest she thinks something bad happened to me.
Sometimes if I'm not at home and I'm in a dark room playing my switch/3ds then yeah I like to use headphones for audio clarity, but generally no. I also never use them with home consoles.
