3am, and the world has gone quiet
3am, and the streets have gone dark
Faces pressed into pillows, trying to keep their tears silent,
listening to the sound of their own broken hearts
Clocks are ticking as the minutes go by,
getting closer and closer to the end of the night
A brand new day, a fresh new start
But, the morning sun can't heal old scars
A new day, but the pain of yesterday will still be there
And tonight, there'll probably be more tears
Time goes forward, but wounds still burn,
and when memories resurface, they will hurt
Nobody is as okay as they seem,
but don't let the nightmares of yesterday, destroy tomorrow's dreams
I only hope that when 3am comes, you'll be asleep
