First of all, my current 3DS's control stick is badly damaged. It's really loose!

So in a couple days, It will be my birthday and I'll have about $200. So originally I was just going to get a New 3DS XL and no games. But then I realized, I could get a regular 3DS XL, an NFC reader, and Animal Crossing HHD. So which would you choose? I'm leaning more towards the regular 3DS XL.

I would get the new nintendo 3DS XL since nintendo will probably start releasing more exclusive games for it like they did with xenoblade chronicles for the new 3DS

Good point. Plus, I'll still have a month to get money for HHD

Aren't the regular XL's and new XL's the Same price anyway?
They are here at least

And can't HHD be played on the New 3DS and New 3DS XL as well? I don't think it's exclusive to the earlier versions

I would just get the New 3DS XL if I were you. There probably won't be another opportunity like this to get it for awhile.

If you have the money to buy the latest version..buy it :D so go for the new 3ds xl. better ram capacity and better 3d. you also dont have to carry the little nfc reader since it is built in in the new one :D

I would get the new version, because you'll be able to go longer without having to upgrade it. You can get the XL now and save that $70, but in a year or two you'll be wishing you got the new XL to be able to fully enjoy the new releases

I would get the regular only because it's easier to take the SD card out when you want to transfer pics to your computer.

For uploading pics with any New 3DS model, there's microSD Management on Data Management from System Settings. It lets you transfer files between the system's microSD card and a Windows 7/8.1/10 computer via a wireless router. And all of that without ever using a specific screwdriver.

This method is plenty good if you're only transferring pictures, but backuping the entire microSD card content is so slow you'll have to leave your New 3DS overnight to finish transferring.
