3 Normals?

I have six hahahaha (actually seven but Sally is about to leave) and I love them all so much <3
I had the same doubts but in the end we have to do what makes us happy and nothing makes me more happy than seeing my cuties all together

I have four normal villagers at the moment. I don't feel anything out of ordinary. I just love seeing them walking around in my island!

I have 4 as well - Marina, Fauna, Flurry, and Coco.
The dialogue is... boring. But I find that true of all the personalities. I only have one smug, one snooty, one lazy, and one jock and I feel like I've already heard everything they have to say, so at this point it's all looks.

Normals are super boring to me and I've never gotten over it since new leaf
But it's a love/hate relationship since almost all the normals arguably have the cutest and most appealing designs. I don't care for their dialogue, but I'm also never going to move them out once they move in.
Rn I have Merengue and Skye but I probably wouldn't move in another one, personally. I want room to experience other villagers. I especially love the Lazies best.
But it doesn't matter because if you have a villager you like, you should always go for it.

I have Chevre and Nan right now (only planned on getting one of them but then I saw their NH houses and knew I had to get both of them). I really want Molly so I might be moving someone out soon. I had 3 normals in NL and they're probably one of my favorite personalities to have multiples of so I tolerate the repetitive dialogue. Beau and Sherb are my other repeats and I don't like their dialogue nearly as much.
Glad to hear you went for it and you can always move her out if it doesn't work out. It's better to try her out and make a decision later than to spend time wondering what would have happened if you did take her.

I have 3 normals right now. I have Pekoe, Poppy, and Molly. I totally agree that the normals are kinda dull to talk to but they're just so cute. Personally I just decide who I want on my island based on if I like how they look. I don't really like jocks or crankys but I really like Bam and Wolfgang. I'd say just invite the ones you can see yourself being happy to see walking around because their looks do add to the aesthetic of your island
The problem is they made a lot of Normals look cute. Wished they made more of them something else like Little Sister because they have not so much fun ones 
I only have 2 and I don't want more on my island. Or well... There are some villagers I want, but I need to let a normal villager go first. But I like Stella and I really want a sheep and Sydney my koala because she was my first New Leaf villager so I was so happy to see her when island hopping
