3.0 update what will you do first?

Has anyone thought out of all the new things coming via the new update; what you'll start off with first?
Not too sure if we'd be forced to go to the hotel straight away, like when we were called to the airport for HHP; but if it wasn't as forced as that; what's the first thing you'd do?

I think for me, definitely an storage update, before finally removing all my flowers that I had covered the beach for how long with Resetti's update. Maybe then the hotel? I definitely wanna get the new items from Zelda and Splatoon for my Island as well.

I think I want to collect all the items first so I’ll probably doing a bit of everything (except maybe the thing with the save files that I heard about from someone since I still got my main island and second island to complete); I’m thinking of running my tbt shop again so I’d like to have all the new items whenever I can (at the same time, I want to enjoy the update and not rush; I say this now but that may change once the update comes and considering how my focus and interests changes randomly all the time).

I’m hoping there is a lot more to the update that they didn’t show (more custom design slots, more items (please no recycled crap; I was so let down by how they redid the school desks and other items from HHD in the last update ).

I think I may go back to HHP and update and do more there; I need to get started on HHP with my second island too so I can decorate my villagers’s houses.

I'm the same, I'm going to be looking at the new furniture!! I'm so excited so see if there's more stuff to decorate with. I'm also really excited about the new dream islands so I'm probably gonna fuss around with those for a bit, just to see how they work!

I’m interested in the new furniture and the old Nintendo games but I’m not remembering exactly how to get those, so I’ll have to look it up.

storage upgrade is priority #1 for me because my storage is constantly getting full which leads to me doing a clear out every week ‍ then i want to check out the hotel feature and scan the new amiibo’s (i must have the new zelda furniture set!)

I hadn’t really thought about what I would do first until I saw this thread. I really want to try for the Zelda items. The two new Zelda villagers will live on an island I will eventually make for my switch two. I would love to see what new furniture items there are.

I do have a question about the hotel. So sorry if I somehow missed the answer. Does anyway know how decorating the hotel rooms with multiple characters works? Is it just the island rep that gets to decorate since it’s the main island. My islands are just my own but curious for those that share an island. I do have a few side characters on both islands so curious if they get to decorate a room as well.

Ah yeah, I'm sure there's more items they didn't really show! I remember seeing in the list a sea-saw so that'd be interesting, but I also do hope and believe there's more than shown in the trailer. Like one person I watch was always talking about wanting bulk crafting, but he also said he hopes it's not just bulk crafting, but bulk buying and all that.

I nearly forgot about the dream islands, it would be helpful to practice out how I wanna terraform things on other island theme ideas before I do.

I dunno if they mentioned how it works with multiple characters, I was thinking it works like HHP? Although still unsure about that.

I am hoping it works like it does on HHP. One thing that makes me question it is that it’s the main island. Mostly since in the main island most things are done by the island rep. Maybe we will get more info closer to release.

Expanding storage is what I'm most interested in at the moment. I will put all the flowers I have been hoarding on my beaches in the storage, which will let me finally properly decorate the beaches. There are also a few areas of my island that would be nice to fully clear out, so I will probably give the resetti feature(s) a try.

I have not played Animal Crossing: New Horizons since, I am guessing, August 2025. (If wrong—make it July 2025.)

I adopted a dog, in July 2025, and I have been on break from playing the game.

I was not understanding correctly; but it turns out the 3.0 upgrade is available to the Nintendo Switch [1] console. I do not have the Nintendo Switch [2].

I will play the upgrade.

What will interest me, at first, is upgrading storage space to 9,000 slots. (I have more than one human character on all my islands.) I want to use this new capacity for seasonal bushes and other landscape-friendly items.

I hope this update will be enjoyed by people who welcome and play 3.0.

I really want to get the new Splatoon and Zelda items and decorate. Already having ideas for a Zelda themed area. I'll move in at least 1 of the new villagers. I'm in desperate need of some flower management and waiting on the update to help out with that too. I might not check out the hotel right away, since it seems like there will be a lot going on with that, but it sounds neat.

I want to completely flatten my island and start over without resetting the whole island again. I did that when the updates stopped and regretted it so badly

I am definitely going to upgrade storage first. Maybe check out the hotel but I assume furniture will trickle in slowly, so realistically i'll clean up. I want to use my 2nd villager's house as a hotel expansion to the new hotel. I want to lean into the hotel logo items inside the house, and make a path from "my hotel" to the actual hotel! I get this impending doom feeling when I get close to finishing games, but then I walk around my island and so much is unfinished (in a good way ). I have had the same town since 2020 and sooo many iterations, but I like it that way!

Has there been mention if they're upgrading our QR slots? I need more. I ran out of space so quickly even with the additional upgrade. And there's so many QR designs I would love to add to my island. So hopefully there's some QR slot upgrade and in which case that will probably be one of the first things I do.

From what I've heard there's no upgrade to QR code slots which is a bummer It'd be so nice to have more especially for the slumber islands.

I need the little fairy bottle from the Zelda amiibo!! It was my favorite item in New Leaf and am looking forward to sprinkling them about in New Horizons.
