So after resetting my town since I neglected the game for a while and didn't remember what I wanted to do with my town, I started playing again.

The 2nd day... this.

The same thing happened to me in my newest town. Phil just decided to plop his house right in front of mine. I'm currently trying to get him leave so I can move him to my sister's town since Phil is one her favorites.

You can also block them with PWP, but yeah I guess in the first few days that's not an option. I wanted a fountain in front of my house and nearly had a villager take the spot. Now that the fountain is there, they know they have to stay away from the mayor's front yard

it seems to always happen....like the next day you will get a villager move in no matter what...and the plot is usually in front of your house...happen me with sally

I plot reset on the second day so that the house didn't end up in a super awkward spot...

So is that a bad thing or a good thing? Im guessing bad? Lol. Anyway, you can always move him once you're done registering and have 9 villagers. Rocket once moved behind my house and it looked so awful. If she had moved somewhere else i would have keptnher but i had to let her go because she plotted in a bad spot.

in one of my previous towns, Agnes moved in right in front of my house (I'm talking literally 2 spaces) and when I finally got her to leave, Timbra almost immediately put her fence up in the literal exact plot Agnes had just left so I didn't have enough time to finish paying off my bridge and start another PWP to block that spot

I had 3 homes directly diagonal from each other NEXT TO MY HOME. not joking. So frustrating. One Id them moved out today so it's only Rudy and pekoe who both I intend to push out
