2012, rise of socialism in the US, and health care

First off Obama is the president, not the legislator... he just allows legislature through if he approves of it. There is no way he could be "officially ********", given they test these things in school, and he wasn't. If all you have to say is a flame with nothing to contribute, please rethink your post.

Second, what is wrong with socialism? People fling it around like it is a bad thing, but what is wrong with it? People worry their money is going to go to lazy people who should have done something with their life, but you know what being a good person is? Being a good person is being there to offer that second chance to people who fail. Socialism can do that.

As far as education goes I really don't know. I think summer vacation while fun no longer has the same value as it once did thanks to something called air conditioning if your school has it. Just this from my knowledge in psychology on learning would help, while later days probably wouldn't much.

I am fairly certain ATWA seems to be against the government no matter who is in power... but just from his last thing talking of how they sat on their butts and now want to do something.... well isn't it a good thing they are taking interest? and that is kinda reflective of how a different party came into power.
And I don't believe in second chances.

What makes you think that a lazy person that gets money from you is going to suddenly realize his ways and change?

Socialism does't seem like a very bad thing to me.
It's very bad, it means that if you work hard and struggle to provide for your family, and someone else is just lazy and doesn't do anything, they're going to to be able to have access to the same things as you do.

Bottom line is that everybody has equal rights, and society has one social class.
I know what socialism is.

As long as people work, I am fine with it, and I wish that we had a salary cap.

The thing is, people AREN'T going to work. Or should I say work hard. They'll be getting whatever a hard-working person gets for half, if not less, of the work.

Many people are proud to work, which would mean that they would work.
The only ones that you are going to see not working are Teens and Seniors.

You're delusional and sheltered if you truly believe that.

Well, it is pretty sad to see people who work their butts off to make minimum wage, and then you see some CEO or executive of a company who does nothing and makes more than the person working minimum wage in 3 days than in the other person's life!

That was a lie, the government is a lie.

Archy: The *censored.3.0*ing unemployment rate as of October '09 is 9.5%. *censored.3.0*ING 9.5 PERCENT. It went up to 10.2% in less than a month.

Not really.

If they're working a minimum wage job then they probably don't have the talents or skills to chase after a well-paying job. This is why you get an education.

The CEO is obviously capable of doing his job and doing it well.

And education is where the problem lies.

Everything has an agenda.

I live in the city with the second highest unemployment rate. I can say that these people are not lazy, the jobs just aren't available to them.

With that said, I still am against socialism.

Yes, because no places hiring makes you lazy.

EDIT: HOLY CRAP! IM CYAN!

Woah hold on there.

Socialism does not equal communism, communism is the one with a single class.

Socialism is the rich paying a bit more in taxes to help the poor who are trying to improve. At least that is what it is in my mind.

The main problem I see is people on both side worried that someone else is not contributing what he should. In my mind though if someone is poor and looking for work they deserve patience, it can be rough living from pay check to pay check especially if you need to support others. I think we should be charitable to these people, not foolish handing out money to anyone, but offer them the means to get on their feet.

We already have some sort of fascist-socialist hybrid. Maybe not as bad as Nazi Germany... but it doesn't seem to be freeing up any time soon.

facist? You know given how often we let the majority decide things I didn't consider us to have an authoritarian government.... or for that matter how we have a bill of rights upheld for people, citizen or not.

The majority of people in the US are idiots anyway. Who needs the government when we can screw ourselves up? :D
