I was wondering how people make 2 towns in a single 3DS. I saw different methods when I searched for it, such as buying the digital copy and downloading it on 2 SD cards or just buying 2 cartridges. What is the most effective method?

Having one digital copy and 1 cartridge, I suppose? o:

You can't play two different towns in 2 SD card with only one copy. :c

Either 1 digital copy and 1 physical copy or
2 separate physical copies

I'd say 2 physical copies is better than the 1 dig and 1 phys, since there is a slightly higher chance to lose save data on the digital one, although I suppose if you're too lazy to switch cartridges or if you tend to confuse/lose them...then...1 and 1 it is...

I have 2 phsyical copies, I wrote on my 2nd game in sharpie so I dont get confused, The one thing with having 1 3DS is that, If you are like me you will power breed/ cycle out villagers So TTing a lot, This doesnt Affect your main town unless you log on, so I've forgotten to TT back to the last day I have on my main only once or twice luckliy Did't lost any important villagers but I actually got the one villager I needed out to move (woot) . That and Transfering stuff betweens requires a friend to hold them( which sucks if you dont have anyone !)

Wait so most people are buying 1 physical 1 digital but I might get a 2nd physical copy but will the ad card effect that? Because seeing this thread scares me if I get a second one

It's perfectly fine to get two physical copies c:
You can't get two digital copies, though.

I have two hard copies on one 3ds. Too scared go get a digital since all the town data problems

As far as I know, there are no drawbacks to owning more than one physical cartridge of the game.

unless you really, really hate swapping cartridges to load a different town

You can either get one 1 physical copy and 1 digital copy or have two physical copies. I'd rather have 1 of both tho because I can't be bothered with switching out the cartridges.

Pretty sure most people who have two copies on their 3DS have one digital and one physical, so you can switch games real easy :)

I have two towns on my 3DS XL, one digital copy and one physical. Haven't run into any problems so far c:
The only drawback to having two towns on one system is that they can't interact (you can't visit each other, trade villagers, etc).
I bought a 2DS so I could pop my physical copy in there whenever I need to exchange things between towns or steal a cute villager from my second town >:3

I have two hard copies on one 3DS but use my mums too, to trade
will never support the buying of digital, as i want it to prevent the inevitible of everything being digital and not physically having the box anymore :((
