I recently restarted my game and the most terrible villagers moved in .-.

I started with Erik, Tangy and Gladys which I was excited about, UNTIL I saw that I had Peewee and Moose. Oh joy.

Next day, I see Muffy is moving in and I'm fine with the emo sheep that is her.

After that, the abomination that is Hans the gorrila moved in and now Gloria has moved in >_>

Not impressed!

You could always try plot resetting, if you're really angry with the villagers you're getting. It's best to plot reset at the beginning of the game, because villagers always move in until you're at 9. But, hey, your villagers aren't too bad. They're certainly not the worst, either.

Map > starting villagers. Plus, your starting villagers have decent variety, so I don't see the problem.

Hans is so underrated! I think he's one of the nicer looking gorillas. I also really like Peewee, but that's mainly because we studied gorillas in anthropology at school and I just love how innocent and sad looking they are irl, and how they're hunted in Africa really upsets me, so I guess I have a soft spot for them now

Except Al and Violet are abominations.
