16 villager cycle success! *updated with screencap*

Okay, so 6 or so months ago, beau moved away from my town and into my boyfriend's, and finally, after much cycling, I got the same beau to move back into my town last night! And he remembered me! He said something like, "I'm so excited to be living in your town again!" I'll post the screencap later. Just wanted to remind you guys it is possible. And so worth it!!

This is the first time that I've actually seen anyone successfully complete a 16-cycle, and I'm glad that it worked out for you, despite being a long process.

It's interesting to know that the villager will remember you, at least in some situations.

Congrats on the success story, and I hope that this inspires others to keep on trying and not give up on cycling.

Yeah, I mean if he wasn't just chilling in my boyfriend's town all this time and I had to work on keeping him around in a cycle town it would have been a lot more difficult, but still probably would have made the pay off even better. Also, interestingly enough, today he actually moved in again, and I went to greet him, and he didn't say anything about remembering me.

Weird bit of information about this, when he moved back into my town, his settings reverted as to what they were when he was originally in my town, so, even though in my bf's town, he had changed his shirt and catchphrase, when he moved back in to my town, he changed his shirt back to the deer shirt and was back to calling me saltlick! I don't know why this happened, but I'm glad it did lmao

I think it's because it's the exact same beau as I originally had, and not another beau from a stranger maybe? That's the only explanation I have. But I also have not seen many other people's success stories, so maybe this is typical.

I just checked and yes!! That makes me so happy! He was really my most loved villager for the longest time before he moved, I'm pretty sure he was one of my originals.

He won't remember anything about living in your town previously because after you completed the cycle your game "deleted" him from your memory.

Good for you! It's so rare that people actually make it through the cycle! Good on you!!

Not really, people do it quite frequently, they just don't post about it.

Actually, that's only true if its a different villager. Like, if you lost Beau and someone held him for you till you completed the cycle, he would remember you. But if you complete the cycle and invite a different Beau from, lets say, the campsite, its a different Beau so the friendship would be deleted, and he'd act like he never knew you.
