I don't want to load up my game to find that another villager (or maybe a Dreamie) decided to set up their house into the middle of my paths. Bam was the last villager that I needed to move because of that ;n;

I am extremely stressed over the fact that people don't clear their voids and just come into my town to pick up the villager, so just please make sure you have a clear void...

The void is where your previous villager residents go if they do not get adopted by someone else. This means that you have someone in your void.
If you go to someone else's town, there's a chance that your voided villager will move into their town. The person won't know about them moving in until they see their unexpected house plot.
To clear the void, you just simply go into someone else's town. You can ask around the forums for someone to help you clear your void, if they don't mind an unexpected villager, that is.
Whereas me, I need to make sure that I won't get a voided villager popping up that might block my Dreamies from moving into their designated spots

I reopened my gates, just in case.
I sometimes get that error, but try again. It should work

Nope, but I'm restarting my whole ds now. Maybe that will work. I'm fairly certain it's not my connection, and it's just whatever the error is.

My connection has always been fine, but sometimes when I visit my friend's town, I'll still get some random errors.
I just keep on trying until Porter finally lets me connect and visit their town
