Hmmm, I don't think so. The only problem I see with the text is that the font doesn't match very well, and it's not close to the render at all. I think your main hindrance here is how overpowering the C4D is, and not in a good way :-/

At this point I would either re-structure the C4Ds or scrap parts of the piece. Harsh, but sometimes it's better to start with a clean slate/ideas.
(I also still have the PSD of my version of it, if you're adamant on completing the piece. It could possibly give you some ideas. You could try out the Illustrator shapes I included in my pack as well.)

if that's the case, you could test out the other C4Ds that catch your eye. colors shouldn't be limiting, as they can be changed fairly easily.

I don't think I'm getting what you're saying. Are you talking about the blue/red C4D or the blue C4D? o_o

I think it looks pretty good, the only part that should be majorly fixed imo in the area above the guy's eyes. Some erasing or a resizing of the C4D you put there would do some good, while making sure to keep the original size of the right side.

AH and you could experiment with other c4ds as well! It usually takes a while to find something perfect :-]

The other way to cover things up (that would fit for this tag) is using clipping masks.... maybe even with C4D's and/or textures.

Well, first I would recommend resizing the render (making it smaller), and then duplicating it multiple times to fill up the background. Then you can add effects from there. Here's an example:

I put a C4D in the back as well as the front to hide any bits that were cut off (like the tops of their heads, and the mouse wire), and I also included stuff like scanlines to make things a bit more interesting. After this, the next step would be to add coloring adjustments and some lighting.

So yeah, some problems can be easily solved just by something as simple as resizing :-]
Tell me if this works for you! C4D work was a bit sloppy ugh but hopefully this gives you some ideas

Hmm, no. I think smudging with flow would make it look crowded in this case.
Can you link me to the render? I need to get a good idea of what's bg and what's fg before I can give any sound advice.

A good thing about busy renders is that you can do a lot of duplication with them. I'll show you what I'm talking about.

it's really nice! I really like the right half of it. it's defintely a great base, and with some color adjustments it'd be on its way to looking a lot more cohesive :-]

I like Leon, Asahina, Celes, and Syo as well and I have heard of the other characters (especially Ibuki and Fuyuhiko) so I guess I'll really have to check out DR2 sometime soon
