Hiya, hope its alright to ask a question here since there doesn't seem to be a question-specific forum (unless i missed it,, oops) but i wanted to ask: Does villager interaction get better? I've been playing since the 19th when the place i pre-ordered from released them early, and so far my villagers have had hardly any interaction in terms of talking with them. They haven't asked for any favors or anything and their text has felt rather bland. is this just a really long tutorial phase like in New Leaf where you have to get past all the tutorial dialogue to get the real interactions?

i basically just wanna make sure they're not this bland for the whole game and they eventually get better :'O

Some on a French forum said yes but... I'm noy sure and it's a big problem for me : I play AC first to talk with my villagers, and when they say the same to me again and again... I'm disappointed and frustrated !
Maybe in future updates ?

Someone told me dialogue gets better when you exit tutorial mode. I hope so. The dialogue is almost worse than New Leaf. And the villagers get angry way too easily when you talk them them multiple times throughout the day.

I'm not sure who at Nintendo thought it would be a good idea to have a tutorial the expands over several days. I just hope it's close to ending, because I'm not a time traveler, so I actually have to put up with tutorial mode for hours day in and day out.

Yep. You need to speak with and interact with your villagers enough to befriend them and also upgrade your town enough for them to have more dialogue.

Mine had better dialogue and interactions the more I talked to them, and especially once I finished placing all 10 villager home plots (they're like 10k each it doesnt take long I promise lol)

The beginning of the game you're more focused on crafting and expanding the town, once you get to a certain point in the story they open up and will interact with you more. The dialogue is pretty funny sometimes :p

I'm on Day 5 and I feel like it has gotten a bit better. For one, they don't seem to get annoyed as quickly compared to the first few days.
They have also started to ping me quite frequently, always for a different reason. Their behavior seems more varied in general.
This morning, I spotted Sprocket singing by the riverside. It was so adorable. Later, he was walking around the beach, with a thought bubble above his head. When I talked to him he proposed to play a game of treasure hunt, which involved me finding a buried item within 5 minutes.

That's awesome. Today is my day 5, so I guess I have something to look forward to after work.

I've had favours asked of me, both wanted black bass. Was able to give Canberra a gift for no reason (day 4) . She talks about different things whenever I visit her, some require my input. She speaks about her family often, and also does that cute little internal monologue thing you can hear.

I'm hoping very much that specific villager hobbies are back. For example, Canberra talks about gardening a lot, and I often see her watering flowers. Wild World had the same kind of thing.

Feels a lot better than New Leaf.

That sounds so fun!
I only started getting requests yesterday but i unlocked the ability to give them stuff today. I gave Plucky a shirt and she wore it right away!
Dom also pinged me to talk about rex who just arrived today, then he gave me a stone tablet and asked me to pick a spot for it outside. so yes i see more interactions from them now.

All my villagers have houses now, and they appear to be normal. The game will probably need all 10 villagers to feel really lively, they probably cut some dialogue for time but also turned them down to not bother you constantly while you're busy farming resources and crafting imo.

I'm on day 4 so far and I think it's getting better. I think it gets better the longer they stay on your island or if you talk to them every now and then for consecutive days. I heard it gets better once the "tutorial" is over so I'm hoping that's the case.

Thanks yall for the feedback! I played some today and after spam talking to them a bit in an attempt to see if I can get any more of the tutorial text out of the system, I finally got louie to buy a horse mackerel from me and phoebe to give me a multiple choice question. The new villager that just moved in seemed to be talking completely normally!

It stinks that it seems to take a while to get through the tutorial phase, but nevertheless I'm excited for when I can get the full villager experience!
