Should I be excited for this game?

So far it looks boring as hell. I have been a huge Animal Crossing fan since the Gamecube but I am not sure if i should go and get this spin-off just because they slapped some Animal Crossing characters on the cover and in the game.

Is there anything else than just putting furniture is some random characters home?

Just because it has Animal Crossing on it doesn't mean its a fantastic game. Such as City Folk. Ew..
