Male or Female?

just a guy here. not too surprised to see the female fanbase outweigh guys. i guess most male gamers are more into action and less into cartoon-y sort of games. but! a lot of my male friends are into animal crossing! ive introduced some of them to it, and they seemed to enjoy it.

I can't really say I'm too surprised that many users are female (of course I am one as well so just add one more) but it is really interesting to see the whole numbers for each gender

Well looks like we all have the same thoughts on this lol :P

Most guys just prefer the more realistic style games, and care about how the graphics look. However, most girls prefer cutesy, simple games, and obviously don't care in the slightest about what the graphics look like!

Of course, there are obviously girls who play "guy" games, like COD, and guys who play "girl" games, like AC. It's a bit stereotypical but hey, it's not like anyone's disagreeing with the conclusion we all have :P

(Ofc if it weren't for Wild World, I wouldn't care so much for New Leaf. Thank you, my lovely DSi)

I voted as a candy bar. Chocolate without the nuts of course. Hardly anyone likes candy with nuts. I used to play an old game called Phantasy Star Online. There were a lot of cute and or skimpy female models that one could choose to create their character/avatar.

While there were girls who played the game, a good majority of the female avatars were just dudes choosing whoever they fancied or whatever. I'm sure that applies to New Leaf as well. To some extent, of course.

I'm female but I have 3 male friends that play :) I've been trying to get my boyfriend to play as well lol.

Im a guy but its nice to see a game with such a huge female following, as almost all other games have a big male majority. Animal crossingg had never been a series that i had much interest in playing, until i came across zackscottgames lp on youtube and it looked so fun that i bought acnl immediately, and ive been hooked for 4 years now

I'm female! I have two girl characters in my town and one male character though! :)

Never viewed ACNL or any AC game as a 'girl' game. I know quite a few guy friends who play ACNL, and previous titles. I introduced one to NL, because I thought he'd really like it plus the multiplayer aspect makes it more enjoyable.

Granted many games will have a target audience but it doesn't define it as a boy/girl game. So pbbt to that.

Also, I'm a gal.

I introduced one of my male friends to animal crossing, and he loves it. Constantly telling me about his new pwps, and his new villagers. (Also always begging for bells...) I don't have any female friends who play, but it's quite understandable that the majority of players are female.

Haha I would say I'm dedicated to my villagers and making my town look good, like you are. It's basically the main point of being mayor, really.

Have you seen the Animal Crossing movie? I couldn't get over how much the two human characters were like my boyfriend and I; him always running around town in some ridiculous get-up or another lol

I'm sure a lot of male players have a similar style to mine though, so I'm not surprised you care about your town's development!

I actually care about my town enough to plot reset lol. I have patterns all over my town, and a couple of free spaces for a villager to move in!

It makes me sad that people would be "afraid to admit" that they play a game like this if they are male. I wish that people would feel more comfortable in their sexualities.

I'm gender fluid and play all sorts of games. And I think that most people just play an assortment of games that appeal to them regardless of gender.

Like.... girls aren't usually ashamed to admit that they play Call of Duty. It's a total double standard. No matter what gender or game you play... it's fine.

My excuse?
Guys, especially high school guys, are very judgemental, and It's hard enough to be open about ANYTHING when you're like me. Also, guys find it hot when girls play COD, because they can relate to them better, I guess.
