Looking for tips for fishing in Gamecube Animal Crossing, mainly with Red Snappers because they always get away. In New Leaf i relied on audio cues which aren't neay as loud in GC

While I find the fishing in AC:GC to be harder than some of the newer titles, the best advice I can give is the max a fish will bite is 5 times. So if a fish bites 4 times you can always be ready to reel in on the fifth nibble. Other than that, practice makes perfect.
