The Island of Rose Mint

Hi! I used to make blog posts back on the old Blog Tree on here for my New Leaf town, Petunia. Thought it would be fun to upload some screenshots of my New Horizons island, Rose Mint! The name stems from rose being a favourite flower of mine and the name of someone dear in my family. I used Mint after the name of the same squirrel villager in the game, who's been my favourite since Wild World.

My island's time is a bit messy. I got the switch for Xmas 2020, but set the date back to March 2020 and have been trying to play each day...but now it's only July 2020 (as of this current post!) My starter villagers were Flo and Teddy, I actually managed to get Teddy's photo last month, but Flo asked to leave...so I let her Just like New Leaf, I just chose the first map that was shown and was happily surprised to get cherries (I normally got pears or oranges as native fruits in the previous AC games.)

It's funny, as it's technically been over a year since this happened, but i've only played about 3 months worth of the game haha!

Here's an early picture of my house! I was just trying to get those HHA points, whilst finding a color scheme I liked too!

Two villagers I tend to think about is Ruby and Egbert. Like Flo, I let Ruby go without getting her picture. Egbert lived on my island for so long and I was happy to get his photo, but then I kicked him out with an amiibo villager (felt bad doing that...) I have fond memories of having both Ruby and Egbert on my old towns on Animal Crossing Wild World. Hope to see them both again later on.

The first postcard I wrote was to Mint, my favourite villager who I invited as the first amiibo villager. At this time, I was getting impatient as I hadn't read into the fact that you have to invite them three times and have to craft an item each time too. But Mint was worth it!!! Writing letters on Wild World and New Leaf was my favourite task to do, but it doesn't quite feel the same on New Horizons.
