Okay I want an orange mailbox so a few days ago, an orange mailbox appeared in Nook Homes so I bought it. Well the next day, I still had the grey mailbox. But 3,600 bells were mysteriously gone. Well today, the orange mailbox was magically back. I'm being bamboozled by that tanuki.

How does this count as being ripped off, you may ask? Because I'm paying twice for the same mailbox.

That's very strange... I'm not sure how to explain that unless your game didn't save? Or if you time-travelled backward - the mailbox wouldn't change until the next forward day.
In any case, I guess Tom Nook's thieving ways aren't surprising :p
