  • Those are cool, but I agree that it would take a long time.
Ooki is another way to say big as well!
    I think of R as a mix of L + R + D. That's what it sounds like to me honestly.
Do you know how to pronounce the basics properly? Like あ、い、う、え、お? Usually knowing those helps a lot with adjusting to pronounce words^^
You could possibly record yourself with your phone / computer / any device that lets you record~ Maybe that would help? I wish I could help but I'm quite camera shy x_x Is there any words your absolutely confident in saying?
That's a lot better :D! and as for your voice, just speak normally :) I know it's tempting to alter your voice when your speaking another language but your just adding more pressure to yourself. Not all people in Japan have really high voices - that's for sure.
Finding someone to Skype with once you've gotten the hang of everything sounds like a great idea ~ Then you can get an accurate idea of pronunciation of words and speed of talking.

Hm.. that is a sticky situation. I guess that depends on the person you're talking to though. Once you've advanced I'm sure you'll be able to get the hang of it :) Don't worry too much about that.

I think it'll look like a face no matter what you do o: so it's fine. Even in calligraphy it looks like a face. You could make the curve less curved and more pointed/short though.
    Once you go there, you'll improve speaking wise if you communicate with people a lot. :) (Which is necessary) ;u;

Oh wow xD so cute! Few kanji kind of looks like a face if you look at it closely. Your hand writing is not bad at all, I can recognize the characters.
That process sounds extremely tiring *^* It'll be worth it in the end though.
Hm.. are you planning to go to Japan someday?
I see. Well you need to know the structure first before you can ever use kanji in a sentence/speech etc. I can explain different / common particles to you if you'd like? It doesn't have to be now, just whenever you feel like you're ready for it shoot me a PM. It's really simple compared to learning Kanji.
I haven't learned about particles or anything like that yet, but I learned hiragana/katakana a little over a year and a half ago.

I've tried continuing my learning several times since then, but no matter where I start, I always run into something that was "too hard" (like kanji), got frustrated, and quit. Rinse and repeat. Hahaha

I tried reading up on things like particles a few times, too, and I just couldn't wrap my head around how they worked... Especially ones that are used in a similar way to others.

But I think that if I can pulling off learning the kanji, and get some vocabulary, it will be easier to recognize why and when certain particles are used. That all the things I've learned will help "fill in the gaps".
That sounds like an amazing plan. I'm kind of speechless LOL. You sound like you know what you're doing. :) I feel like you answered your own question haha. I admit, even I confuse some kanji with another now that I haven't been practicing. Taking it in slower is better in the long run because it will actually stick into your mind compared to cramming. I hope everything goes well for you~

Have you gotten everything else down, though? Like sentence structure, particles, etc?
Ah, I see ^^ I kind of wanted to do something similar to that.

Anyways, sorry for the sort of late reply. I had to do a little search to see if there was anything online that matches what your looking for.. and unfortunately I didn't find. Are you looking to memorize most kanji or just be able to recognize them based off radicals? Well here's a game I found in the process: http://www.kanjigames.com/kanji-crush.html May or may not be useful. :3

I learned mostly by books/school rather than online sources. I like being able to feel what I'm learning? haha xD I was digging through some old books and found this: http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Writing-Kanji-Kana-Book/dp/0804816859 <--- It was really useful for me. It doesn't really highlight the radical like in the images you sent me, but it provides the radical(s) in a separate box. Here's a peek inside for you / sorry for the huge image ^^:
Oh, hey there! How's your shop going? :) and I do . and of course I'll try my best to help you.
