Today is my day off, so I managed to do quite a bit of drawing! (Most of which are of Char and Crisp, hehe.)

For starters: I drew one of @/xSuperMario64x's OCs, Comet, for the "Draw the user above you!" thread. I love the design but it was a bit complicated for my abilities, so I went for a bust drawing. I hope I captured their likeness well enough! ><

This is my entry for the egg collectible decorating contest. I did an old sketch of a K.K. Slider egg some time last year, and I knew I had to bring the idea to life. I struggled with the eyes, but I think this looks pretty good (especially with the 28x28 canvas).

My idea for an easter drawing that I may or may not get to? It's hard to tell, but Crisp is supposed to be wearing an egg costume, haha. I like how Char looks bored as always.

Random idea that popped into my head earlier today. I thought the irony was funny. (To be honest, I'm only really bothered by music censorship, so I don't mean anything ill-intended with this piece!)

This is based off of the "I think we're gonna have to kill this guy" meme. I saw one version on Pinterest and had to recreate it with you-know-who. :P

I've done a reference sheet for Char before, but I decided to revamp it. If the pose looks familiar, it's because I used the same drawing from the last piece. XD

Finally, I did this drawing for my darling Suguri to hopefully cheer her up. It's only a sketch since I'm feeling burnt out, but I'm otherwise happy with this. I love you!

For starters, I want to give a shoutout to my partner @Suguri! Thank you for giving me the support and motivation to keep drawing - Sometimes I get self-conscious about my art, but I remember to keep pushing to better and improve my skills.

After Suguri showed me a drawing she did of Roger Rabbit, I decided to draw him myself - Despite having to simplify a couple things, I think these turned out pretty good! I hope they'll look better in the final version if I get around to it...

I finished this piece shortly after I made my last post, and I love it a lot! Just like I love Suguri, hehe.

I'm still trying out chibi bases, so here's one I did of James Hetfield. I'm okay with it, but he looks too babyish for someone who's supposed to be a rugged rockstar, hahah.

Random drawings of Char. The first one has a reference to Metallica's "Enter Sandman", because why not. :P

And finally, here's a doodle of Dog Man! I wasn't happy with the final version, so I'll redo it another time and see if I like it more.

That's all for now! I have mixed feelings about my art, but that's okay. So long as I keep practicing, I'll be more satisfied with it eventually.

I can't sleep, so I might as well post my art to pass the time. Though I've done quite a bit since my last post!

I haven't done comics in a long time, but I decided to do a two-panel comic featuring some familiar characters. The punchline is that the songs being the same genre isn't the only similarity. :P Though technically one is a rock song and the other two are metal. (The censored title isn't anything graphic, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!)

Still using the chibi reference sheet I've referred to in an earlier post, I drew Toki Wartooth, AKA my favorite Metalocalypse character. I'm really proud of how I drew his hair, hehe.

Suguri suggested I drew Dog Man characters, so I did so with Petey! The caption is a reference to an old Petey drawing I did in 2022, hahah.

Since I've drawn Roger Rabbit, I figured I should try drawing Bugs Bunny. For my first attempt, I think it looks pretty decent! For the second one, I had to trace over the face so I could have a reference point; The first attempt was wildly disproportioned. T^T
Both pieces are based off of Looney Tunes screencaps, which I'll put in a spoiler for reference.

Still going with the Bugs Bunny theme, I drew Crisp wearing a costume of the aforementioned character, which was inspired by Suguri's drawing of Crisp in Roger Rabbit cosplay.

Finally, here's Char. Funnily enough, the hoodie design is inspired by a screencap from Looney Tunes. XD I'm in love with this piece!

Massive art dump incoming
Okay, I've been drawing a lot the past couple of weeks. What can I say? I love drawing. XwX

First and foremost, we can't have an art post without my beloved Char (and Crisp). Here are some random drawings of them:

Char as a Tanuki, revamped. There's no cookie incuded, though. IYKYK

I even drew them traditionally! I don't do this often, but I'm happy enough with the results.

Crisp and Char as plushies, just to make them even cuter.

Ever since Suguri drew her OC Obsidian, I had to give a go at his design. He was the first character I've drawn for Suguri, after all!

I was given an art prompt, "Draw a baby otter, playing with a tiny skull" and I thought it was awesome, lol. I've never drawn an otter (or a realistic rodent skull) before, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

It's been a long time since I've drawn Miis, so here's two of my favorites in my current art style!

Suguri made some absolutely adorable sketches of Char, so of course I had to recreate them! They're so cute, I can't.

My phone keyboard has some sort of mix-and-match emoji function, and one of the ones that caught my attention was a strawberry fox! I'm in love with this piece.

Sketchy skulls. Not that I know how to draw them anatomically correct, but I like the look of these.

Whoa, it's been a hot minute - But I've got lots of fun stuff to show!

During the past few weeks, I engaged in some crafts - The first project I undertook was custom pins. My next post will be dedicated to my pins! (Because I want to make more first.)

As for my second craft, I found a tutorial for pompom cats on Pinterest. I've made pompoms with yarn before, but I had to make one into a cat. The first one I made wasn't the best since the yarn I was using was too soft, but I love him. I named him Jack.

The other two I made were a bit better, though I ran out of pink yarn for the second one. T^T I named them Peppy and Mustaine respectively! (Suguri suggested Mustaine and I couldn't say no, 'cause he's my favorite guitarist lol.)

The third and final craft I made was a sock cat! I struggled a lot with this; I haven't sewn since I was a kid, and I didn't bother to learn the basics, so the seamwork is messy. But overall, I'm happy with this! I named her Socks, per Suguri's request.

Now, onto drawings!!! I have a lot... ^^"

For whatever reason, I felt like making Dave Mustaine in pixel art. This was pretty fun, but I wanna redo this eventually!

The next two pieces are based off of drawings Suguri made, and I recreated them because I really liked them! All three characters here are her OCs.

Got a random idea in the middle of the night and I just ran with it. XD I'm not that good with hair, unfortunately.

For my first time drawing a skull (with a reference of course), this isn't too shabby!

This was based off of an art prompt, "Draw a snake eating its own tail". Of course I had to reference Metallica's The Black Album, with the snake and one of their (best) songs, Don't Tread On Me.

This is another prompt drawing, "Draw a demon with makeup". Given that I call Lucìa (from Wii Sports) "Satan", I drew her with makeup. Even as a sketch, I'm quite happy with this piece! It was nice to draw her again after so long. ^^

Now onto random characters - Petey and Sylvester, because why not. I made the Hello Kitty drawing for a user on TBT.

Since I got Discord Nitro, I made a couple of Char emojis. Admittedly I never use the angry one, and the other gets a lot more use!

One time Suguri was feeling down, so I made her this drawing to cheer her up. I love it, especially the background!

This is what I think is an accurate representation of me listening to Steel Panther; Their songs are highly inappropriate but so funny. (Funnily enough, a SP song played while I was making this post, though I'm sure to get a warning for sharing its title, much less the lyrics...)

Spoiler: How I make pins

- I started by buying some blank metal buttons on Amazon, I got 100 pieces for about $20 CAD. I'll try to find the listing if I remember to...
- I use acrylic paint as a base so the images can adhere to the buttons better.
- I glue the images onto the buttons using mod podge, then let it dry.
- I either tuck in or cut off the excess paper (I ended up using both methods lol), then glue the edges with mod podge before letting it dry.
- I apply a coat or two of mod podge as a sealant.
- I hot glue the button onto the pin (where the pin goes so you can attach it to things), and done!

I had a ton of fun making these pins! I'd like to make more, but I'm almost out of blank buttons. T^T But I'm sure bottle caps and safety pins can work as well! Until next time~​

Okay, it's been a few months since I've been here...

Despite being less active, I would like to start sharing my art on TBT again. I think I've improved a lot since my last post!

I made a brand-new reference sheet for Char, since I wasn't happy with my last one. I believe it gives a more in-depth view of my character.
If it wasn't obvious enough, Char is basically a more exaggerated version of me lol, so there are some correlations to them and my own personality and whatnot.

Since I'm currently at my parents' house, I decided to try drawing with markers. I didn't get the smoothest experience but there are a couple of things I'm happy with. ^^" The first drawing is Crisp (genuinely surprised I was able to make a perfect circle) and the second drawing is Dave Ellefson, or at least his hair. XD I have a specific idea with the latter sketch, but because I'm struggling to put it on paper, I think I'll wait to get home and draw it digitally...

I'm still contemplating if I should post the art I've made since my last post, because there's quite a lot. I probably will anyway, hopefully I'll get around to it!

Here's a redraw of a Dog Man x Zelda drawing I made in 2022, it's honestly so cool to see how much I've improved over the past few years! (Second piece is the original.) I'm not 100% happy with how I drew Lil' Petey, but otherwise I'm quite proud of this.

While I'm at it, here's a recent drawing I made of Petey if he were a metalhead. I quite like this one, and it was very fun to draw.

I'll probably get around to posting the rest of my art, but I'm a little intimidated with how much there is and I don't have a lot of time on my hands. So that will hopefully be sometime next week once winter break starts!

I have been feeling like my art has been stagnant for a while, since I was drawing the same characters and not much else. Since I've been getting fixated on a certain series anyway, I decided to try my hand at a new art challenge - Happy Tree Friends edition!

This time, the rules I set myself are different from my last art challenge in 2023:

RULES AND GUIDELINES

All the characters were randomly chosen by the Wheel of Names, just to keep things unpredictable and interesting!​

​

Instead of forcing myself to draw something every day, I'll go at my own pace so I don't burn myself out.​

​

The workload is much smaller this time, with only 20 prompts (though some of them have duos). This art challenge will consist of four posts with five drawings each.​

​

I didn't want to draw every character in the same pose, so I have plans to make each drawing unique!​

​

I'm allowing myself some tracing since it helps me stay grounded and not butcher the whole piece, but for the most part I'll draw everything else myself.​

​

Despite Happy Tree Friends having its iconic schtick, I'm not drawing any gore, violence, death, weapons or anything of that sort. I think the characters have great designs as is without needing to make them suffer. ​

​

Each piece will have a short description of my thoughts on the character, the art itself and my favorite episodes said character stars in.​

Without further ado, here are my first five drawings!

Spoiler: Day 1 - Handy

Handy is my absolute favorite character in the series, simply because I love his scowl and his overall role in the show. XD The characters each have their own gimmick, and Handy's has shown plenty of potential in his episodes.

Spoiler: Day 2 - Truffles

Truffles was the extra character I threw in the art challenge to have an even number of prompts, but that's not the only reason why I added him. I really like his design and I'm a bit disappointed that he didn't win the 2010 character vote, I think he would've been a great main character!

Spoiler: Day 3 - Petunia

I feel like Petunia is the (slightly) more interesting version of Giggles, lol. But the fact that she's implied to be Handy's lover is pretty adorable! Though I'll say some of her episodes are pretty disturbing...

Favorite Petunia episodes: Eyes Cold Lemonade, I Nub You, Who's To Flame?

Spoiler: Day 4 - Giggles

I don't think Giggles really has a gimmick, though I find it humorous that she's seen going on dates with many characters throughout the series. :P I think her design is adorable!

Favorite Giggles episodes: Snow What? That's What!, Eyes Cold Lemonade, Every Litter Bit Hurts

Spoiler: Day 5 - Flippy

Flippy is definitely the most iconic Happy Tree Friends character, and most of the fandom can agree that all his episodes are top-tier (myself included). His kills are brutal but also unexpected and unique. Though I won't go into detail about that... I do feel bad for him, since he's a nice character but has suffered a lot. :(

Favorite Flippy episodes: All of them!

Overall, I greatly enjoyed making these drawings, even if some of them aren't my favorite. Since these are my first pieces in the Happy Tree Friends art style, some of them look disproportioned or otherwise "off". ;w; But that's okay, it's all part of the process!
