In OoT, we see the first Ganondorf. He steals the Triforce, transforms into Ganon, is defeated by Link, and is sealed in the Sacred Realm by the Seven Sages at the end of OoT, which is the Adult Timeline. He then manages to escape the Sages' seal in TWW's backstory, and a new Link defeats him, stabbing the Master Sword through his head and turning him to stone, leaving him to drown with ancient Hyrule. He doesn't return in PH and ST, so we can skip to the Child Timeline now.
Now, when Zelda sends Link back seven years at the end of OoT, Link warns the king about Ganondorf's evil plans, and Ganondorf is arrested. The Ancient Sages attempt to execute him, but fail, so they seal him in the Twilight Realm. This is shown in TP's backstory. The young Hero of Time then travels to Termina in MM, but that's an alternate dimension and there's reappearance of Ganondorf, so we can skip this game. Then comes TP, in which we see Zant rise to power, under the command of Ganondorf from the Twilight Realm. Ganondorf and Zant spread the Twilight Curtain throughout Hyrule, but a new Link stops them, and kills Ganondorf with the Master Sword.
Now...this is where things get a little foggy. I put LoZ/AoL after TP in my timeline, but we have a problem here. Ganondorf dies in TP, but he is alive and well as Ganon in LoZ. So, the question is, how does he come back? Well, all I can say is...
somehow. No matter
where you put LoZ/AoL, you're always going to have a problem with Ganon. He's died 5 times in 5 different games. One of which he was revived right beforehand, so we can skip that one. So know we have 4 instances where Ganon/dorf has died. LoZ, ALttP, TWW, and TP. We already know that TWW and TP are on different timelines, and ALttP features a new Ganondorf introduced in FSA who becomes Ganon (I'll explain this in a minute), so that explains those three. But that leaves LoZ. No matter where you put it, you're gonna have a Ganon conflict. It's unavoidable. I placed LoZ/AoL after TP in my timeline because I feel that it's the most logical place for it to go, and I'll explain why in the video. So you just have to accept that Ganon was somehow revived. Not that big of a deal. Anyway, moving onward.
Yet another new hero appears in LoZ. He kills Ganon, takes the stolen Triforce of Power, and reunites the separated Triforce of Wisdom. The same Link then goes on to claim the Triforce of Courage in AoL, but again there's no Ganon, so we can skip ahead. Next in my timeline we have the Oracle games, commonly referred to as OoX by the Zelda community. In the linked ending of OoX, Twinrova manage to partly revive Ganon. They give him the Trident of Power, which, if you believe the common theory, becomes linked to Ganon's soul. Link kills the revived Ganon, and that's the last we see of him...for now.
Next comes TMC and FS, neither of which feature Ganon. After FS comes FSA, and here we see Ganon yet again. However, it's different this time. FSA's backstory tells of a Gerudo thief named Ganondorf who steals the Triforce of Power and becomes Ganon. Now, from FSA's backstory, it's obvious that the Ganondorf in FSA is clearly a different Ganondorf than the one first shown in OoT. This new Gerudo King steals the Trident of Power and becomes the "ancient demon reborn", Ganon. What happened was, when Twinrova revived Ganon in OoX, his soul was linked to the Trident of Power. When the new Ganondorf stole it, he awakened the original Ganon's soul and became him. That's why we don't see Ganondorf anymore after FSA, just Ganon. Anyway, yet another Link defeats him, and the Seven Maidens seal him in the Four Sword, which is in turn sealed in the Sacred Realm, as we see in the GBA version of ALttP. This becomes the backstory of ALttP, which comes after. It is implied that Ganon broke out of the Four Sword in GBA ALttP, and is then killed by another Link at the end of ALttP. The last game on this timeline, LA, is a direct sequel to ALttP, and doesn't feature Ganon. So, Ganon is killed for good in ALttP.
