Do you guys ever get really annoyed or tired with being told "you've been playing a while?"

Are your play sessions typically long enough to get that response from your villagers?

Do you think it's good that Nintendo includes reminders like these, or just find it moderately judgmental and irritating, like your game is trying to parent you, even if you're an adult who does what they want?

I used to get it a lot when ACNL first came out but that was primarily because I played online with other people for a few hours a pop.
I think it's good that they included it. Screens on younger kids can be damaging to their eyesight (I know from experience; I'm a prime example), and quite frankly, some kids need to be reminded that it's time to stop. Albeit, their parents should be the ones to tell them when to stop ...
Either way, it doesn't really bother me. They only say it once every few hours, so I rarely see it.

I disagree with everyone. IT'S SO ANNOYING!! Sometimes I would play for a long time and they would keep telling me. "Oh you need to rest your eyes, you've been playing too much!" No... I'm not a little kid so I don't need to 'rest my eyes'. The older games didn't do this and nobody's eyes were even damaged through long periods of playtime. Nintendo, either remove it or add a feature that lets you disable it for crying out loud!

I think there should be a way to disable it too. It annoys me as well. I'm not a child so I'm not keen on being constantly told I need to rest.

After a long session, it is totally obvious why a certain villager is always getting in your way. Ignore her/him/it and the dialog never comes.

I usually get it once per hour. I just ignore it if I'm in the middle of doing something (not that I heed their suggestion when I'm not, because I don't. I keep playing anyway).

It used to bother me a lot when I first got the game but after I got so used to reading the same dialogue several times, it really doesn't bother me anymore. As I hardly read the dialogue nowadays. I used to make the joke of my villagers breaking the fourth wall because of it, haha. My play sessions are incredibly long so I get that from my villagers quite often. Even when i've done absolutely everything I can do for the day, I still tend to hang around that bit longer to socialise with my villagers.

I think it's kind of cute, I'm only ever irritated by it if I actually want them to talk to me about something, like if I am trying to get them to fib that they've been talking about moving so I can say NO!

everytime it happens I just

I always thought that piece of dialogue was added because of the controversy surrounding the 3DS at the time, how the 3D setting was making people go blind and so on. So I always thought that was their way of warning those who were playing on a 3D setting to take a break once in a while, but it's probably just me making an assumption.

I think I've posted something like this in another thread, but my favorite moment is when snooty villagers says something like "Do you watch zombie movies because you look like you're in one" (because of playing a lot). It never gets old for me.

"It applies to the console, not to the individual player"

I do find it annoying when that happens. I really don't think anything bad happens to me when I play for a long time.

back when i first got animal crossing in the summer of 2014, i played from 7am to 10pm, and that message popped up so often ;;;

It doesn't bother me so much but after I've played for quite awhile, I have to remind myself get a villager to say this to me so that others can ping me again. So annoying if you forget and wonder why no one pings.

Yes, it's super annoying. I don't come across it as much as I used to when I first started playing. But I see it sometimes when I've finished running around town doing the daily stuff, or just doing some landscaping/putting down patterns. At around 30 minutes is when I'd say they start saying it.
