Just wondered what everyone's worst illness/injury stories were. I'm currently experiencing mine right now so I thought I'd share.

Sunday night I was awake all night with severe tooth pain, went to an emergency dentist in the morning and turns out one of my fillings had failed causing bacteria to gather under the tooth and eat away at the nerves.

I get given antibiotics and painkillers to fight the pain and then that night I'm rushed to hospital unable to breathe due to an allergic reaction to the penicillin in the antibiotics.

Next day I'm given new antibiotics without penicillin, only problem is the side effects associated with these include constant hunger, nausea, a bloated feeling and vomiting. Luckily for me I've been experiencing most of those, besides the vomiting, which feels like it could be coming any time!

So yes, to sum up I've had the week from hell so far and still seems like I'm going to need the tooth pulled out when I return to the dentist on Halloween (joyous day to go to the dentist, right?)

yeowch! best of luck. i'll withhold my questions about candy. :)

i fell on my face at a wal mart, which caused my glasses to cut my eyebrow. i don't know how far, i never got to see it ( :( )

it got stitches, but that's baby time. i don't do much to have problems. yay.

Pneumonia
I think it was on the verge of becoming deadly, but we caught it in time. Two shots in the ass and I was all better.

And Staph Infection, it almost killed me as a kid. Ah, fun times.

Haha, strange thing is that I never eat candy, and I brush and floss. Just got unlucky with a bad filling, I guess.

I think I'd cope worse with an injury like yours, blood and open wounds don't sit well with me. Luckily I've not had any serious injuries like that yet.

Appendicitis, it nearly killed me. I had to go into hospital on christmas day 2007 but I couldn't go into the operating room because most of the doctors had the day off or had more serious patients to tend to. I had to wait until midnight to go into the operating room, (I went into hospital at 9am, but I'd had the pain for over a week) but my appendix had burst before then. The operation went well except that I still had tons of that toxic pus stuff in me so I had to stay in for that and that I almost didn't wake up from that stuff they use to put you to sleep.

it was on my eyebrow so i never saw it, stitches lasted all of three days max, and there was little to no blood that came out.. what blood was there was left on the floor of wal mart for + a week, lol

it was painless
yours sounds horrid

It might be Sinusitis, but i dunno. It caused me not to go to my elementary school's 6th camping trip, which made me really sad since it was realllyyyy fun. Months later in 6th grade, it almost caused me to not go to the 6th grade dance, but i went there with no problems.

I never really get sick, but once i got a concussion. Threw up for most of the night and a wicked headache.

I've had Pemonia Pneumonia and Scarlet Fever at least twice each. And I got Whooping Cough last year. I'd have to say my worst was when I was like 5 or 6 and I got Scarlet Fever. It was so bad...

My worst injury was about 3 years ago when I was riding my bike on the cement path we had at my old school and it was on a hill and when I went to turn my back tire got between the cement and the ground and I flipped my bike over and skidded my face on the pavement and my hand was covered in blood as with my face and arm. I was out for 5 to 10 mins.

2 years ago I got sunstroke/dehydrated or whatever, which made me very dizzy when I moved just an inch of my body and I were unable to see at some points. But after several days at the hospital I was completely restored.

I had a fever the day before it happened and I hadn't eaten for 2 days so that may be the reason why this happened...

One time I drank a lot of water and got overhydrated. It's where you basically drown your body from the inside. It's happened before on water drinking contests on radio stations, and people usually die from it. I got lucky, but I did spend the rest of the day hallucinating and slurring my words. My parents thought I was high or something, but nawh.. I was just dying lololol

I had a fever at the age of 7 , and vomitted a-lot.
But yet , I never got sick once because I started to eat organic food , so that was the last time I was badly sick.

There was one time though where in the back of my throat , it was infected with this weird bacteria , and I opened my mouth and saw my tonsil swollen and red. I couldn't swallow anything , and I was told to eat ice cream all day , or drink salt water.

^ You strained my eyes reading that.

Whooping Cough, had that two years ago, among other things at the time. I was pretty sick around the time I got it, I missed over 100 days total by the end of HS (Recently started College). Feels really crappy to suddenly be not able to breathe. Plus my lungs were weak for the longest time, I couldn't do much. Luckily haven't really been sick since HS, worse thing I've gotten so far was a sore throat. :D

The worst injuries I've had are an ulcer, chronic side pain (waaaaay worse than it sounds), and smashing my arm through a car window. The pain in my side was so bad I couldn't move or think for an entire week. Then the medication they put me on gave me huge mood swings. I ended up crying myself to sleep every night thanks to the pain and the medication.

And another time I was working inflatables at a music festival and I was standing in the sun all day. I ended up getting heatstroke (my arms and face went numb & I passed out 5+ times) and literally crawled to the emergency tent. I was so mad that nobody stopped to ask why I was crawling like that. Even the medical staff didn't care. :/

I had extremely high fevers when I was a newborn and had to stay in the hospital for the first 4 months of my life cause I could have died, I was so sick.

But this past August, I had a pretty bad stuffy nose so I took some decongestants for it and that night I couldn't sleep so I took something to help me sleep. Apparently that's a really bad idea cause when I woke up the next morning for my first day of band camp, I passed out 3 different times in less than 10 minutes. If I hadn't been downstairs for the 3rd one, it might have been more than 3 O.o
