"Your town would be perfect if..."

I had a visitor in my town lately who told me that my town would be perfect if I'd get rid of certain villagers... I just told her that I like them. I don't think my town is perfect yet since I still have a lot to do to dress it up, but I don't think my villagers ruin it in any way since I personally like them. Why should my choice in villagers affect someone else's opinion of my town?

I thought it was a rude remark because it's basically saying, "Your town is great, but your poor taste in villagers is bringing it down." How would you have responded if someone said that your town would be perfect if a certain villager wasn't in it?

I've never had anyone comment on my villagers. But I tend to only have people over for trades or giveaways, so people generally aren't paying attention to that most likely. I've had people comment on liking my paths or my PWPs but that's really it.

I don't really care what people think of my villagers. I like all of mine well enough, so that's all that matters.

No one commented about my villagers, tbh i think they all are pretty decent. I know though that when I get Diva someone would probably say the same thing :L

That's pretty rude to say to someone. Villagers do make the game, but maybe it's your visitor who has the poor taste. Everyone has different opinions and there is no reason what so ever that a comment like that should have been said. I would ignore it. I know how attached you can get with villagers, whether they are cute or not, personality all lie on the the same lines. Your visitor need to realize it's not all about the appearance or the popularity, it's about the villager themselves. The way they talk, the way the act around town, the things they do for you. There are no"perfect" villagers.

This person is measuring the quality of everyone else's town against his own idea of perfection which seems to be all about the villagers. It's an opinion you shouldn't take seriously. At least, don't let it bother you. Many people do this. A lot. For some, perfection is about covering every square inch of your town in 12 different patterns. Or making sure you have a fully expanded house and the highest possible HHA score. Or blue roses everywhere.

We all play the game differently. It's your town. If you're happy with it, that's all that matters.

Wow. I'd actually be offended. I mean, I'm not keen on some of my villagers but they're still my villagers. I'd feel like they're insulting my friends ;__;

This game is one of the more adorable games I've ever played, and all of the villagers have their unique charms. People may like and dislike certain villagers, but that doesn't mean you should tell others what to do with theirs. In fact, I think it's wonderful when players can connect so strongly with their villagers.

Unless they move away, then that'll take some recovering. :'{

That was quite rude. Hmm, if I was in your position I would have probably told them that it wasn't any of their business and then I would have probably asked them to leave. I don't know how attached you are to your villagers but I would have taken it as an insult to them and that's way out of line.

I would have just said **** off. Nah, just kidding, but I wuld have thought of that.
i mean, everybody has different tastes, and really, that is extremely rude. Looking at your siggy, I think your villagers are perfectly fine ^^
It's like on another day, like 2 weeks ago, somebody said on a thread that Freckle is horrifyingly ugly, well I have her, she is my childhood buddy, and she is adorableee!
So i mean, when people say those kind of things, they are just simply immature, nobody has the same taste.
So, I think you shouldn't have answered to that rude comment, just let that person drown in her rudeness.

My town would be perfect if I had been more keen to PWP placements from the beginning. And if I had learned how to use paths earlier than I did.

Other than that, my town has all the villagers I want in it! That's my choice and I keep them for me. Not for others

It's not that offensive of a comment, imo. But it does come off as arrogant. If someone said that to me I'd just respond, "well, that's why they're in my town and not yours."

It is pretty rude because favorite villagers are obviously subjective. It honestly sounds like something that should have been a joke because it's such a ridiculous thing to say. It's your town, not theirs.

I don't find there is a perfect town at all, because it comes down to opinion, and end of the day, you're the one who has to see your town day in day out, providing you're happy with it, give a hoot what others think even if it's negative. Nearly 80% of players who visit mine tell me to cut down on the trees overload, but it's a forest theme, it's meant to have trees haha. I don't care though, I keep plantin them!

My town would be perfect if it was everything I wanted... :V So far it's only about one quarter of the way there. Out of the villagers I currently have in my town, I'm only going to keep one of them, if that. I'm very tempted to actually let that one move out too, and that's Cookie. I like her, but there are several other peppy types I like more than her. Shame, really, because she was also one of the villagers that greeted me when I moved in.
