"Pffft, I'm not even that big a fan of Mario, I'll never come up with 5 games," I thought as I opened this thread.

1.) Super Mario Sunshine

2.) Paper Mario

3.) Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

4.) Super Mario 64

5.) Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

Now where do I fit in Mario Party 1, 2, 4, and 7, and Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario World, and Super Mario Galaxy 2.. D:

1. Super Mario 64
Nostalgic, my first video game ever, overall just fun and exciting!

2. Super Paper Mario
Doesn't get a whole lot of love, and it's understandable why. But this is a very powerful contender in the series. It features a very deep, complex storyline with very interesting villains, and it has a different overall pacing and feeling to it than most Mario games. A very unique entry that tries a lot of things to differentiate itself. Only parts of them work, but those parts are really well done.

3. Mario and Luigi (Bowser's Inside Story/Super Star Saga)
I sort of put these two together because I love both of them, but I don't love either over the other. Both have some really good qualities. I love the new villains in SS, I love that you get to visit a new kingdom, I love how exciting the adventure is. BIS is funny and well written, Bowser and Fawful's dialogues always have me in stitches, and I enjoyed (most, not all) of the aspects of the adventure and gameplay.

4. Super Mario Galaxy
Even though this doesn't give me QUITE the same feeling as Super Mario 64, it's still made with that nostalgia in mind, and it's clearly trying to be this generation's version, which I respect and admire, and I thought they did a really good job with it. I think it's fun and creative and features some beautiful graphics and music.

5. Mario Kart 8
As much as I loved Mario Kart Wii to death, I think 8 just got everything right. The courses are fun, the music is beautiful, the graphics are gorgeous, I love the anti-gravity. Everything about it is just fun and perfected. The items might not play a very big role this time around, but I don't necessarily mind that, considering how OP they were in the previous MKWii.
