So I want to hear some thoughts and advice on this method. Have you ever tried it? If so how has it worked for you? And do you think it's worth doing?

For those of you who don't know the method (to supposedly help a villager move out), it is when you create a new character and introduce yourself to the villager you want out. Afterwards, you DO NOT talk to them (so ignore them).

I don't like to do that even though I sometimes do it on accident since I sometimes completely forget that villager is in my town or I just don't feel like talking to that villager. I noticed when ever I introduce myself to a villager than completely ignore them, on the day they move out, they don't send me a letter or tell me, so I can go days without noticing them moving out. I usually notice if I'm preparing to update my dream town and I notice a huge hole somewhere with grass wear and no trees.

i heard that it works for some and not for others, but i have yet to hear that it works CONSISTENTLY. move outs seem pretty random to me, but i never ignore the villager because i enjoy talking to every villager.

I tried this with two villagers I wanted to oust. It did not work for me. I'm talking like 3 weeks of ignoring them, all for not. I just ended up making really fast friends with both and, eventually, they moved out. Took about a week. Much. Faster.

It seems like the best strategy is to completely ignore new villagers and they will leave on their own. But if, like me, you've already started the "friendship quest" with a villager...then be really, really nice to them for a few days and then they will ping you to move.

Coincidentally I ended up keeping my new character...he's the town gardener and path mule ;)

I believe that move outs are just random.I do not believe that ignoring the villager really works.I know some say it does, but I think it was just luck. The villager was randomly chosen, and would have asked to move anyway.

Some say it is possible for a tenth villager to move.I have had Keaton for over 10 months. He never asks to move.Although I'm not saying it isn't possible.

I hear of people hitting the unwanted villager with a net or sending them hate mail.I don't believe that this works either.lol.

My experience has been mostly inconsistent. I tried ignoring, after introducing myself, and every villager except that one was asking to move. Someone mentioned that I needed to talk to them one more time before they would move. Well, all it can say is, that worked! She moved out right afterwards.

It's been fairly successful for me. I've tried it about 7 times now, and 5/7 of those times it was a success.
Right now though, Anicotti won't leave with the method, and she seems pretty determined to stay here (again).

Have you tried talking to her one more time?

Where did you get that fabulous signature?

Didn't work for me, I tried it on Kiki. She moved in a horrid spot. But then I decided, eh i'll just become good friends with her. She was gone the next week.

When I first started cycling, it was working really well for me at first. I was able to get villagers out pretty easily just from simply ignoring them, but after 5-7 successes, I notice it just stopped working and I was getting more requests to move from villagers I spoke with than from villagers I ignored. It seemed pretty random after that. So I can't really give any evidence supporting either side of this...

It's worked for me, but just warning you it's really hard to get new villagers out if you haven't had anyone else move in after them!
