okay, so I know the majority of towns have pathways around their town, and it looks really nice. But I can never do a decent job myself when I go to start a pathway. So, in your opinion, can a town still look nice without pathways?
and do you like towns without paths?

I don't think paths are nessecary at all for a nice town. When done right they look really nice, but people do a good job without them too. I went to one town (which I'm kinda copying this particular idea) where they used bushes on the sides of their worn "paths" and it was really neat! Also strategically placed flowers always look nice too!

I think it can... until the grass wear starts setting in and you have ugly bare spots all over the place. Though, depends on how much you play and what routes you take.

I use paths so I don't end up with unsightly bare spots everywhere.

I had paths in all my town, but got tired of them. For me, the natural feeling of the grass, flowers and trees are the best, so I think they aren't necesary.

My "paths" are made by flowers, trees and bush barriers.

It adds personality to a town when paths are used, but it can definitely look nice without pattern paths too. Just follow your own aesthetic :)

In past AC games I hated paths and thought they were a waste of time and space, etc. I decided to put some down in my town and I love it :D I only need one pattern for my path and I don't have it very intricate, just roads to my buildings and villagers houses.

But when visiting a foreign town they are so helpful in getting around!

i think paths are good for keeping guests where u want them other wise they might trample flowers

I've seen plenty of beautiful towns without paths. Though I do think a nice dirt path really adds something. In my honest opinion, pattern paths look ugly and out of place. No offense to anyone who uses them.

I adore paths, but I think a town can be beautiful without them too. It's all personal opinion and how you do it, honestly.

NEED no, me personally I use them for decor, but they do come in handy when I have visitors, and I can tell them to walk/run on paths to help prevent my hybrids from being ruined.

I agree with most of the replies.
Paths are really useful, but not completely necessary to everyone. Although, it seems like an essential for those who don't like grass wear and for those that like to keep visitors organised.

But I don't have paths yet in my own town, because I just recently started.

i kinda prefer paths just so i dont have my grass dying everywhere
i mean i like knowing where to go
and in dream towns i think it looks nicer because it leads us to stuff

though i love natural grass paths with bushes on the side. they look very nice.

I love them in my town because they make it easier to get around. I could go for the natural paths since I think they look pretty but if I start playing less the grass will start growing back and the paths will fade so... .-. Just keeping my patterns where they are.

I think it's fine not to have them if you don't mind grass wear in certain places

I couldn't stand it so I put paths down and now I can run in my town again 8D
