You finished your catalog, now what happens to Wisp?

To those of you who have finished cataloging every single ordenable item in the game, I want to know if you’ve gone to talk to Wisp after and what his response is if you have completed his quest. Wisp usually gives you the option to pick something you don’t have (based on your catalog) or to pick something expensive, but if you have every single item in game cataloged does he still give you the option to pick something you don’t have? If not, wouldn't that render him "useless"?

Are you sure that he gifts something you don't have in your catalog? I thought it was something you don't have in your house storage.

I'm not 100% sure, I heard someone mention that Wisp will give you an item you don't have in your catalog, but for all I know they could've been wrong about that.

Some people here offer catalog services and if they're not done with their catalog, they're close to it

i mean i guess you'd just pick it anyway. i dont think id ever pick the something expensive option because i think the items Wisp can give u only go up to a certain limit that isn't too high, but im not sure about that. & i dont think its that big of a deal if uve finished ur catalog, it's nice to help a buddy out u know? ur not in it for the reward, but the friendship. im jk but also not rly

i’m about 2 items away from having a complete orderable furniture catalog and wisp actually paid me a visit last night - even though i’m not finished yet, wisp gave me something that i already have so i’m assuming he’ll just start giving you stuff you already have once you reach a certain point ;;

I'm just curious if he has unique dialogue for when you can't get anything new. He'll probably just give you something at random them.

Personally I don't care about completion when it comes to multiple colors. It kinda takes my drive away, like just give me the pretty stuff.

Doesn’t he just give you a random item either choice you make? He says he doesn’t know the value of items very well, and if you pick something new he says he doesn’t really know what you have or don’t have

He kind of uses the line "whether or not you have a lot of things" so I wonder if he'll just keep saying that regardless of whether you complete your catalog or not.
I'm definitely nowhere near completing it though and don't think I'll ever be so I really wouldn't know for sure. I did complete the Nook Miles achievement for helping him out 20 times, I believe.
I think so far, every single item he's given me when I choose the "something new" option has not been a part of my catalog. - I could be wrong though.

That's what I'm curious about! Does he realize you have everything cataloged and he proceeds with a "here, have this anyways" or "share it with a friend"? Kinda like with the DIYs.

i believe i’m just missing the black and green smokers aha - and that’s entirely possible! i haven’t experienced wisp prior to new horizons so i’m not too sure about his mechanics, either aha ;;

It's never something that crosses my mind. If I'm close to completing it, I definitely would try to complete it but for now, it sounds too hard! I'm really impressed if someone has completed it!
