I know this is a really weird thing to ask, but I only have 200 coins in my Club Nintendo account and I can't possibly save up more to get Earthbound

I know it all boils down to personal preference, but I'm just asking for all of your opinions anyway.

If you were going for Earthbound, you'd be happier with another RPG. So I'd go with Golden Sun. Quite possibly the best RPG on the GBA, if not any handheld. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Why not try Super Mario World (SNES)? A lot of people like it more than Super Mario Bros. 3, even though they are both good games.

In my opinion, you should pick up Yoshi's Island. Super Mario Bros. 3 and Golden Sun are really great games (I especially love Golden Sun), but I hold a lot of memories and nostalgia for Yoshi's Island. It was just an amazing game. The platforming was top notch, and it had a pretty good amount of content to go along with it. I just loved Yoshi's Island, and it still is one of my favorite GBA games. However, Golden Sun is also a really awesome RPG, so you'd probably enjoy either one of those. Super Mario Bros. 3 is great, but it is cheaper than the other two on the eShop.

I've never gotten a chance to play Golden Sun (looks fantastic tho :P) but Yoshi's Island and Super Mario Bros 3 are great. I have just a bit more of a preference for Super Mario Bros 3 since it has a lot of my nostalgia attached to it. (We wont talk about how I couldn't beat world 3 when I was younger xD)

Keep in mind with Golden Sun that you kind of need both games for the entire story, more so than most sequels.

But yea, I would get Golden Sun or Yoshi's Island.

I would recommend Golden Sun. It's a fantastic RPG, but yeah, you do need Golden Sun: The Lost Age for the full story.

Yoshi's island has aged amazingly well and it's a fairly technical game. Once you finish playing it, you can then watch AGDQ runs of it and have your mind blown. :) To be fair though, I have never played Golden Sun so you'll have to take my opinion with a grain of salt.
