I have been playing AC since it came out in the UK and, to my shame, I have never managed to catch a Scorpion. Then last night I caught 2.

I came out of my house and there it was, just in front of me, easy peasy

Now to find a tarantula. Anyone else struggled with the stinging nasties?

I only caught a tarantula on my first try. I almost got 'bitten', but I managed to catch it. Anyways, how do you even find a scorpion?

Ive seen a tarantula but have never bothered to catch either because Im busy whenever i see them. Maybe ill try to catch them more often

Yeah, it would be a good idea to try to catch one the next time you see one. Trust me -- I know from first-hand experience that when you finally do decide to search for them, that's when they decide to never, ever appear.

Don't be afraid! Just make sure you sneak up on them. I did the sneak walk towards a scorpion from the front and still managed to catch it. They stay still as long as you do that.

I've never caught either, although I've heard it helps if you have less trees and plants.

I just saw a tarantula for the first time a night or two ago, but couldn't catch it.

I caught both of them. They weren't very hard to catch, but it kind of got annoying trying to find them after a while because of how rare they are.

Whenever I see a tarantula or a scorpion when I'm not looking for one, I like to run up to it with my bug net equipped. Most of the time I get bitten. lol

I saw a scorpion in the town center the other day and got bitten, passed out, and respawned in front of my house. I didn't know that could happen in the game. It was kind of scary.

If you walk slowly around your town, you'll hear a scorpion or tarantula before you see one. Then you creep towards the sound until you see it. If you sneak up to it, it won't run or bite you and you can easily catch either one.

I've been able to catch both the scorpion and the tarantula quite a few times, though I don't hunt for them anymore since I see no reason to.

Also I'm really scared to catch them because sometimes I fail and whenever I do, they come right at me and I always get caught off guard. >_<

I never look for them but when they do come up I don't have my net out so I'm trying to find my net while moving away so it doesn't bite but but so it doesn't disappear but I always fail ;v;

I know it's silly to be scared of them but when they rush at you and sting you it really makes you jump out of your skin.

Tarantulas appear from Jun - Aug and scorpions appear from Jul - Sept. They only appear between 7pm and 4am.

Don't like either of them! I caught them both in my first town, but haven't bothered with them since. Too creepy *shudders* !

They were super hard for me to find, too! Turns out they like clearings, and have become more common (although they're not truly common) since I cleared out most of the flowers and trees in the main part of town. They've even turned up in the plaza!

I will say, do not, under any circumstance, have your net out all willy nilly!
I guess if you're doing anything other than tiptoeing with the net out, it ticks them of and they'll "bite/sting" you. You black out, and wake up infront of your house.

I was minding my own business last night, and it wasn't even in view, but a tarantula literally came up out of nowhere from the bottom of the screen, angrily running up to me, and despite running, it got me. It was a very startling experience >_>"

God, I jump just seeing them cause they're suddenly there, but it's doubly bad when they have no warning and get you @_@
