Yay! I finally did it!

I wasnt sure where to put this, so I plopped it here. And this probably doesnt really deserve a thread, but I am so excited and proud of myself that I can no longer contain myself. I have quit smoking cigarettes. I have been a smoker for over 10 years, and have been wanting to kick the habit for the last few years. And I finally did it. Well not completely yet, its only been a week and a half. But so far I've been fine without smoking. This is the longest I've ever gone without a cigarette. I've tried quitting before but never made it past a couple days. =)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)

Well yeah I know that, but either way not only is it a HUGE achievement, but it might also let the kids here who havent started smoking how hard it is to quit. I've tried 15 times. This is probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to overcome. Right now i cant breathe, I cant run, my teeth are yellow, my clothes are stained, i have scars from burning my fingers... Just saying how awful of a habit it is, in no way shape or form am I encouraging people to smoke with this thread. It is just the opposite.

i know but still..... lots of people on this forum that are kids think u are "cool" if they see u are smoking they might catch on. im not saying its likely, but im just saying its possible the little like 7,8, and 9 year olds on this forum can and might catch on.

But thats the point. It isnt cool to smoke. It hurts. I cough up black nasty stuff daily. I cant wait until some of this damage is reversed. Smoking is completely uncool.

Kimmi, you're 11.
This isn't a forum for 10 year olds. People here aren't going to think like that.
You're the only one saying so and no one else is, just shut it.
Most of the people here are teens.

It's really hard to stop an addiction and it's good to hear that you're being an example to those kids who need to see what it's like.

Congrats on kicking the habit! My grandmother smoked for almost all her live and she now has emphysema and needs to sleep with an oxygen mask at night. She quit too late and now her lungs are very bad, it is sad because if she had never smoked she would have been perfectly happy. I am glad you quit so that hopefully you won't have to go through what my grandma goes through daily when you are older.

My friend is 26 now (I think? Maybe turning 27 this year?) Anyways he was diagnosed with a small case of emphysema and that damage can never be reversed. It is nothing really that serious right now, but he absolutely cannot smoke if he wants to prevent future damage to get to the point of your grandmother. My grandmother died when I was young from Lung Cancer, you think I would of put 2 and 2 together before I started smoking lol

Yea.. My gradma died because of smoking.. She had a choice between smoking and living, and guess what she chose? Smoking.. <_< And now i'll never see her again. :'(
And to make it worse, she had Asthma while she was smoking too.. T_T

i have asthma,its from 2nd hand smoking, i have to take pills everyday now. my mom smokes and guess wen she started..... wen she got preggy with me. mean huh, it wasnt purposly, it was like a week before she was preggy with me that she started smoking. now everyday before and after school i take pills.
