green/blue = town.
blue are power roles (doctors, cops, 1shot vigs, watchers, etc...)
green is just a regular townie.

red is mafia. mafia can also have power roles but they're still red.

also don't worry about cory, yea he can be mean sometimes.
but... i would take his "advice" maybe read up on the basics of mafia. (cough the mafia general thread thats a sticky here will help cough).
