Ok so I'm trying to breed a shiny Buneary using the Masuda method, but I also want it to have a specific nature and at least 5IVs. The two Pokemon I'm breeding are:

Mother - Buneary (Japanese/JPN). 5IVs (HP/ATK/DEF/SP.DEF/SPD). I can't recall the nature, but I know it isn't either of the natures I want for my shiny Buneary. As for moves.. I don't particularly care about those, so I'll exclude that part.

Father - Buneary (North American/ENG - hatched in my game). 5IVs (the same as the mother). He has the Adamant nature (one of the natures I would want).

For the first 54 eggs, I had the Mother hold the Destiny Knot, and gave the Father the Power Bracer.
I got a decent amount of eggs that shared the IVs of the parents, but very very few who had a one of the natures I was looking for.

After that batch, I swapped the Fathers Power Bracer with an Everstone - which fixed the nature problem, but now the hatched Buneary are only getting 4 of the 5 IVs.

So here's my question: how can I get both the IVs and the nature? Without having to sacrifice one or the other.

You're going to just have to rely on luck and hope for the best to while using an Everstone and Destiny Knot, I recall there was a time travel glitch that would help push them to 5-6IVs, But I don't know how to do so or if it works anymore.

Use Everstone on the one with the nature you want, and then make the other hold a destiny knot. (I would then breed until I got a 6 IV for collection purposes.)

That's what I'm doing now. But as I said, even though that fixed the nature problem, they're now only getting 4 IVs instead of 5. :(

One finally got all 5 of the IVs. It has the nature, IVs and gender I want.. but isn't shiny. D':

Two more got all of the IVs, too. And one of them even had my preferred ability.

But again, no shiny. :I

Shiny hatching could take over 1000+ eggs in worst cases. Have the parent with the correct nature holding the everstone guarantees the nature, and if you give the other parent the destiny knot you have a mediocre chance of having a baby with 5IV's. Notice I said mediocre.

In order to hatch a baby which is guaranteed to have 5IV's, then you actually have to breed two 6IV pokemon and hope that 1/200 chance of hatching a completely perfect baby works in your favor. Since there is no way to past down a 6th stat, it's all luck. Even the parent ones. I'm assuming that you want to have a simple 5IV, so I'm not going to go into grand detail.

6th stats usually aren't needed but go for around 50 TBT more simply because of it's breeding capabilities. You should give one of them the everstone(that has the preferred nature of course) and if it's the FEMALE that has preferred ability, simply move the everstone to the male with the nature. Females have a higher chance than males of passing down abilities.

Shinies have about a 1/1000 chance of being shiny with MM and if you're doing all this training you won't get there anytime soon. I know, I'm hatching for a 6IV shiny ralts.

For reference, these are their stats:

Japenese Ditto, 6IV, Adament, Limber
Ralts(home-bred), 6IV, Modest(I had to go through the pain of breeding pokemon and hoping that they had this nature so I could chain it), Trace.

The Ralts is male, but since it bred with a Ditto, it has the chance of passing an ability-equal to the female in normal breeding. I simply gave the Ralts the Everstone and the Ditto the Destiny Knot since the ditto's nature is unreasonable for a gardevoir.

1/1000 is still better than 0. :p

I have plenty of time before OR/AS comes out to hatch me a shiny Buneary, anyway. And if I hatch at least 100 eggs a day, like I told myself I would, I'll get one eventually.

And if it ends up being one with only 4IVs or what-have-you, I'll just trade it away for a different shiny. I've had my eyes on the shiny Trevenant ever since I saw it's shiny form on Serebii..

Heh, I have a shiny Phantump that I never let evolve....

I'd be afraid to evolve it if I had one haha. Since it's one of those Pokemon that can only evolve through trade.
Trevenant just ruins the cuteness of a white Phantump.

ooooOOOOOoooo you can't hurt me cause I'm cute ooooOOOOOOooo
-Creepy the Shiny Phantump

It was hard for me not to keep that shiny feebas when someone asked me to evolve it.

Hehe, I think shiny Trevenant looks so cool, though - like birch trees in fall. It's both pretty and scary looking. I love it ♥

you can always use Instacheck! it shows the IV's of eggs before they're hatched and shows what their shiny ID is. give the egg to a person that has the same shiny ID as the egg and bam! 100% guaranteed the egg will hatch shiny. of course you have to trust that the person will trade them back. though some trainers do find it as way of "cheating" but i don't agree with them. you're just using a tool that will save you time from obtaining your shiny perfect pokemon :)

Instacheck doesn't work anymore.

Oh wow, I think I just accidentally came up with an alias for myself when I was thinking about what I'd name a shiny Trevenant. Haha.

At first it started out as just "Trent" (I chose it because it's sorta-kinda like the word treant), but it eventually became "Trent Birchwood" - and I like the sound of it. it also amuses me how it vaguely sounds like Clint Eastwood.

Maybe "Trent Birchwood" can be my "Pokesona"? :p lol
