So I bought the Mario and Luigi Dream Team 3DS XL Bundle a few days ago, and did a System Transfer from my old DS to the XL.

And apparently upon doing so, I completely lost the Mario and Luigi game AND my 3DS XL thinks it's my 3DS.

I've spent the last few days calling Nintendo Support's Administration Office and the serial number of my 3DS XL appears to be invalid, even though it's clearly printed on the system AND on my Walmart receipt. The old 3DS is also not showing it had performed a System Transfer and the 3DS XL has my NNID registered on it and it thinks it's the old 3DS.

Unfortunately, they cannot reimburse me the game even though I've paid for it, because they cant see where the game was originally installed. They are unable to re-add it to my NNID Download list because of this, and they don't have any download codes they can issue, so my only option is to re-buy the game. The rep offered me a discount on a physical copy of the game, but only $10 off (making it $30) but I am terrible at keeping up with the tiny game cards, which is whY i've converted to buying downloads and having a rather large SD Card.

Uggghhh!!! Well, at least the XL works. The rep has a hunch that the system may have been tampered with, but I did not see any evidence of tampering when I bought/opened it and it appears to be functioning normally.

If anyone happens to have a download code for Mario and Luigi Dream Team they are willing to sell/trade/donate, I'd appreciate it. ^^;

That actually is really weird, I did a System transfer from my 3DS to my XL a few months back (I had the full version of Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D) and that transferred over just fine.

Honestly, that's a shame to hear and I hope you're able to get a copy sometime soon, I'd hate having to lose a full game over an accident.

Best of luck man.

Thanks! The weirdest part is my XL's serial number shows invalid in their systems, and is probably why they can't find it. The rep even had a suspicion where she thought the last digit (Which was an 8) was actually a 3, and when she searched for it assuming it was a 3, it came up valid, but wasn't a Mario/Luigi 3DS XL.

I think I have a very unique system here xD Sucks I lost a full game over it though. They couldn't even give me the eshop credit to re-buy it so I'm trying to find someone who has a download code for it.

That is really crazy! o: I hope you get it sorted out soon. If it takes ages to reply, keep on emailing them, calling them, or however you can get in contact. Maybe your local gaming store knows how to deal with it, you never know! I hope you're all sorted out soon! c:

It was sorted out with Nintendo earlier today, unfortunately it wasn't a favorable response :/
