Wow. Thief from Turnip exhange I want to thank you.

I've been really lucky to only have really lovely experiences with people here so far, I'm super sorry you had such a crap one and on your birthday to boot D:< it sucks that there's always going to be people out there just looking to snatch up whatever when honestly there are so many people offering up free DIYs/items/clothes etc all the time and like. It's just not that hard to take a bit of time and freaking earn your own bells, it's already rude enough to pick people's flowers etc without permission (like that grows back quick) but good grief.

Well I'd also be happy to come over tomorrow and decorate your board! I love doodlin :D and if you have any wishlist items def let me know and I'll see what I have in my hoard, I've been trying to get my catalog up to fatty boombalatty status so if I can bring or order you something to cheer crap up I'd be frickin pleased to do so. <3

I'm sorry you went through that. I don't know why people can't be courteous. I've only had one negative experience and sadly the person was from this site. Similar to you, I was hosting a DIY event for a cute rose crown. I invited a few people to my island one at a time to keep track of them. After the individual got the DIY, they started running around my island, trampling flowers and shaking trees (fruit and money). I caught them doing it and said something to them. They did the laughing emote and ran off past me so I just pressed the Home button.
 
I hope you had a very happy birthday, and I'm sorry that such a negative thing happened to you. It really sucks that some jerks take advantage of Animal Crossing to scam and hurt others.

In the future, it may be worth taking some additional steps to protect your island before other strangers come over online. Fencing off all areas that you do not want people to access, laying out ground rules and kicking people out immediately if they do not follow them (by putting your system into sleep mode or going to the home page), and picking up all dropped items from the floor so that no one can take them are possible steps you can take. No one should have to take these steps to keep themselves safe because no one should be stealing from you period, and it is absolutely not your fault that a jerk decided to try and take advantage of you, but it's worth considering when you do decide to trade online.
 
Happy birthday! surprisingly i had the a similar experience! i was hesitant to make a post about this because reasons. this morning i was running my little shop as usual when i noticed a large amount of diys missing from my beach even tho i already accepted the orders :( so i had to close shop to check and i lost around 30 something diys. The biggest frustration for me was that someone would steal instead of asking and it lead to me not being able to complete orders from my shop and that actually makes me more angry than losing the diys themselves (dont care about the diys too much tbh). Ive had too many visitors yesterday so i couldnt keep track but im fairly certain it wasnt someone from TBT :( all in all a terrible morning!

that aside, I hope the rest of your birthday is better! If you would like i can let you come shovel as many bell trees as you want! My island is overrun by them 😂 @Weiss Schnee
 
This makes me sad to hear that this happened to you. I wish I could help in some way I would gladly in a heartbeat. I hope that this person gets the karma they deserve from this.

Some people would rather be hurtful and deceitful than challenge themselves to asking kindly and accepting 'no' may be an answer.

It's just so rude! Like face the people you steal from and understand that their time, effort, patience and work went into something. We're people too. If you have it hard just say so. I'd probably just let them have all the bells. When they steal it just hurts. I imagine for them too. Stealing is never a right response to kindness. I'm sorry you had someone take from you too ;A;

Omg thats so terrible! scammers are the WORST :c

I hope your able to recover from this, from the looks of it you already have 369 which is a lot better then 0!
hopefully your birthday hasn't been ruined because of this, I hope you had fun today besides this incident..
 
TBH. This forum is not immune to thieves. I hosted a bug off so ppl could farm for the artisan cage. I have open field for ppl to run and catch bugs. I have little to no rules just not to take my hedge fences because I don't want to go through all the dialogue to craft it again. After the first group the fences were missing. They took the scattered taurus frag and a tremendous statue that I was going to trade later that day. I ate the loss and opened for the second group. That was most recent. I've had a few other incident from this forum. Mainly me giving away stuff and finding them selling it almost immediately.

i tried turnip exchange a month ago and couldn't register because I was not a patreon so I gave up and moved on.
 
yikes that sucks. sorry! i do hate when people take advantage like that.
i've seen people arrive to sell turnips and get everything they can on nooks, or fruits without asking and i even think that is rude.

for money trees, i placed mine very far from the entrance and not only that... i also placed flowers and items near it so i think if someone ws to do that, they'd have difficulty getting them. maybe you think this is too much effort if you just wanna get it yourself, but maybe you wanna do this too.
(tbh i didn't set that up for thieves, i just lack of space lol but i just thought about this now)

I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm sure Frita will beat up any other scammers who come to your town. Out of curiosity, what site/platform did you use to invite people from? If it was from here you can leave negative reviews.
