Wow really, game?

Okay so now I'm on mission 'unlock terraforming.' This morning, I went ahead and threw a bunch of items onto the ground, paid off a bridge and got my 8th villager, Marina from a Mystery Island. Well I paid another 10,000 Bells for a plot and another 2,000 Nook Miles for a NMT to get another villager just to realize that no villager was on the island. So I'm out 2,000 Nook Miles and now a random villager is going to move in, I think. I knew things were going WAY TOO well at the beginning. XD

There was no one on the Mystery Island because you'd already gotten one (Marina) for today. It's one per day for the 7th-10th villagers.

Maybe you'll get lucky and get someone you like.

You could stalk the New Neighbor Network forum on the site and look for free villagers and see if you like any of the free to adopts!

While the islands will only give you one, if you have an open plot, you SHOULD be able to get someone to move in if they are in boxes, to my knowledge.

I made the mistake of building all of my plots from Tom nook in one day because I really wanted to go villager hunting but didn’t know you could only recruit one a day BUT the next day(after recruiting my one allotted villager) non of my free plots were filled with randos and I got to go hunting again! This actually happened for every plot I put down that day (no randos moved in as long as I invited someone each day until they were all filled) now idk if I was just insanely lucky or they put that as a safeguard for people like me who didn’t know you could only recruit one villager a day.
