This is why I haven't traded on other sites.
I'm a part of quite a few AC Facebook groups but using them to do trades always makes me nervous because of the lack of any kind of rating system, and the potential for the person to just leave the group and disappear.

If it's not here, you should warn others about their username if it's like Reddit or something. That way they can be outed as the crook they are. I always hated people like this. They prey on the fact that it's a chill game and try to pick off unsuspecting people. Report their switch account also.

Also TC can look up in the switch which players has played with and take note of the FC and Switch name, this way maybe you can help other people don't get scammed (or just let them know who's an s**bag)

You should leave them a negative rating if it's on here to warn others. Even if the staff intervenes and fixes it, the person still had ill intentions and deserve to get a negative rating.

Really sorry that this happened to you! I'm quite prominent in the villager trading scene and have come across quite a few scammers. I've not been scammed myself but it's always important to be careful including when people are selling Raymond or Judy. Best advice if you're on a site like Nookazon always read the reviews, asks for pictures of them in boxes with dialogue that they are moving out, ask for them to say their name in the screenshot too.
