Would You Play a Video Game or Watch Someone Play the Video Game With Commentary?

I don't really mind other people playing, it's quite enjoyable to see their screwups! But I do like playing the game myself.

For me, it entirely depends on the game. Watching someone play minecraft, terraria, animal crossing, or pokemon seem to be boring. Games like Fallout 3 and The Walking Dead are more interesting to watch for me than to play.

i'd rather play them myself, but when i don't have access to my systems, i prefer to watch walkthroughs with no commentary. sometimes, it's difficult to watch when the player makes a lot of mistakes, though.

I like to watch people do lets plays if I am getting the game myself in the future for example xmas but if it is of a game that I already have I don't really see the point in watching them. I find it boring to watch a LP if I already have the game because I can play it for myself and get the better experience. For example I watch Zackscottgames and I enjoy watching just a few videos of the game(not all of them because that would give it away) that he is playing(I am watching him play pokemon x atm) and I am going to get the game for xmas so I want to get excited for the game.
