I've seen a lot of villagers go up for as much as 30 million bells. Yes, I know, there very popular BUT 30 MILLION BELLS?! NO WAY!

Depending on who it was and how much i wanted them I would do the equivalent in TBT but not the whole toting the 30 mill bells I hate having to tote bells around.

I've never bought any villagers. I think you're greedy for asking bells for a free in-game aspect. You pretty much pay someone to talk to a villager, while you can get so many other great villagers for free, what they are supposed to be.

I wouldn't pay that many IG bells. Although I've paid some TBT for a villager, I don't think it was equivalent to 30 mil.

I don't think I've ever even had that many bells amassed at one point, so no. Even if I had that much, I still wouldn't. It helps that a lot of the villagers I like are underappreciated and lower in the tier lists.

i only try to buy villagers that i feel like i need for my town, so 30 million bells would be worth it. i'm rich anyway

the game isn't "about" anything. as long as people are willing to pay in return for their favorite villager, i don't see anything wrong with it. although if you like getting your villagers the natural way that's totally fine

the thing is, the reason people are willing to pay so much in the first place is just something in return for a specific villager. there's hundreds of villagers and it's very hard to get one specific one naturally.

and you could technically give away anything for free, like items and flowers and stuff, but all the things that make up a town might cost money and that's just how things are. and that includes villagers. i totally see where you're coming from though ^^

I don't have a problem paying that much. It's how long it would take to give all those bells to the seller. Although, I get most of my bells from bug hunting, so I don't even have 30 mill at the moment.

Not everyone asks for bells or IGB or TBT just for you to walk in their town and talk to the moving villagers. Yesterday, I posted a comment on a 2 year-old thread, and the creator of that thread messaged me about how I mentioned one of my dreamies, Diana. She even said I could have her for free. I walked into her town and talked to Diana. She's living in my town now.Thanks, Crash!

huge sums of money for something that will always be trying to get out at some point and could leave without the buyer realizing until its too late sounds like nothing short of a scam to me
