Touhru Adachi
Handsome Ladykiller
I've had my game for a few years now. I've kept the same town the entire time --
But a while ago, we had access to hacking our towns freely. We were able to change the appearance of our acres, move the buildings and PWPs around, change which villager lived in which house, et cetera.
I was ecstatic. I utilized it to change my map pieces around, to make sure all of the obnoxiously huge buildings were lined up at the fence at the top of my map. I used it to tuck a log bench into my bus stop. I used it to put two of my street lamps up closer to the fence than they were allowed to be, and closer to the cliff edge / the wall. I lined up all ten of my villagers' homes into impossibly close distance so I could fit all ten between my two bridges and path them neatly.
I never hacked in any bells, I never hacked in any items, and I have worked hard for everything I have now. I only ever moved things around because I just couldn't enjoy the spontaneity of the random layouts.
But I know there's people out there who don't even approve of plotting your villagers. Which I find absolutely crazy. I could never just roll with the changes the villagers would make to my town if left to their own devices. The thought brings me distress to the point I don't think I could be assed to play daily like I do now.
So -- if you saw a town with a clearly edited layout, would you assume they had hacked their house, their bells, their items, etc.? Would you instantly jump out of playing with them? Or just admire the work they put into their town outside of their editing?
I've always been wary of posting in the online play forum since I edited my map, and I'm definitely unsure of uploading my town to the Dream Towns and putting out my DC because of this.
