Would you change your island name?

I originally wanted my island name to be "Echo Island" but because of the character limit had to come up with something else on the spot. I didn't want to take too long thinking because I wanted to actually start the game and so just went with "Maui" since I knew I wanted to have a tropical theme. I don't love my island name, but I don't dislike it either. I also kind of like that you are not able to change it, even if I'm not 100% satisfied.

no. my island name is axolotl and i’m honestly in love with it which is rare for me as i’m hardly ever satisfied with stuff like that ;u;

however, the option to change our island name or even our character’s name would be a great feature to have ;u;

I love my island name. I wouldn't mind if the option to change it was there, but I wouldn't use it.
Could be useful (and pretty harmless) to some people, but there should be some kind of restrictions so people don't do it every day or so.

Oh I would definitely change my island name if I had a chance to. But I feel that I impulsively chose my island name at the time because I was being "influenced" by the games and shows I was watching lol. At that time I was playing a bunch of final fantasy XV and I named my town Lucis. But as time passed on I kinda wanna change it to Midgar or Hokusai. But atleast with a name like Lucis I can make my "own" town theme lol.

As of right now I'm going with a neo modern town, where one side is super modern and the other side is rural, almost forest like.

Having an option would be pretty nice to have. I've always had trouble with naming my town/island so having that feature there could give me more thinking time lol

I would like the option to change our island name, but I’m fine with the name that I chose for my Island. There is a small chance though that once more furniture becomes available (assuming they are going to introduce more), that I may want to change my theme since the theme I chose is the same one that I had in NL. When I started playing NH, I kinda wanted to try a different theme, but couldn’t think of any other ideas, so I ended up going with my NL theme.

I agree with Sheep Villager and think that there should be some fee or something that prevents scammers from changing their name (or a way to track someone regardless of name change).

I like my island name but I definitely think there should be an option to edit it! It’s such an important name and people change their minds over time!

I like my island name even though it does reflect the theme of my island. Then again my island doesn't have a theme because I am indecisive.

I misspelt my island name and resetted after a week of playing, if there was an option to just change it it would have made things easier. Currently I like my island name and don't see myself disliking it in the future, it's not tied to anything I am currently into and I don't think I've seen someone else with the same name, but who really knows so it would be nice to have the option because I don't see myself resetting again.

I still love my Island name and think it’s perfect, but would like other people to have the option.

I actually used to strongly believe that it was good to have some things—such as Island or player names—be unchangeable. It seemed right to have them be permanent. However, my opinion has changed quite a bit since then.

The main reasons for this change are the longevity of the game and the inability (for most people) to start a second Island. This game is meant to be played for years to come, and people and their circumstances change over time. If having another Island would be possible without deleting the previous one, this would be less of an issue. As things are though, I think there’s enough reason to give people the option.

I think we should definitely have the option, but overall I’m happy with my island’s name!

I don’t think anyone should be locked into anything when they can’t make a second island and would be forced to buy a second system or reset.
