Would you buy a Wii U for Animal Crossing?

If there are other *good* games complementing the Wii U, I may consider it.

I have a Wii U and I would love an AC game for it. Nintendo can do so much with it, especially with the gamepad. Miiverse is awesome as well.

The Animal Crossing Plaza isn't going to be online forever though. Apparently it's going to close in the end anyway. So why bother, imo? :P

I already have ? Wii U but no i wouldnt but it for AC and i wouldnt buy AC on Wii U because i really like the portable version and i dont think i would like it that mutch if it wasnt portable

Maybe I would, but it depends. I don't have a Wii U and I don't plan on getting one, so I don't think I would buy it just for Animal Crossing. But it really depends on how much better the game is than New Leaf. If it was really that good and I wanted it, I would probably just wait to buy it during a holiday, such as my birthday or Christmas.
It would be a really cool idea, but I'm wondering: it would probably be a few months before Nintendo even announced the idea, and then a few more years before they finished the game. By then, wouldn't they have created maybe a few more gaming systems, and the Wii U wouldn't be so popular? It's sort of how they don't really make original Nintendo DS games anymore; at least, the new games don't show up as commercials like they do for the 3DS and Wii U.
So I would guess that Nintendo would create a new device slightly prior to creating a new Animal Crossing game, like how they did with New Leaf.

that's a good prediction! if that's the case i have mixed feelings about it. you see, this is my first ever Animal Crossing experience, and although i'm loving it i shudder at the thought of having to start from scratch again.

i mean, the whole point of these games is that you make progress in developing your town and collecting things and such. so unless they figure out how not to desert all the current progress (i.e. time put into the game) of players (when introducing the next AC) then i would be very disappointed and most likely would not want to upgrade (be it buying another system and/or next AC game).

i have bought the wii u just before buying a 3DS XL and ACNL, and a couple of days ago my ebay purchase of AC City Folk just arrived in the mail (i bought it before even considering buying 3DS XL and ACNL)... i don't want to play City Folk at all since i am already vested in ACNL.... it's kind of like playing an MMO, i don't really have the time to play another -- only one.

so if we can't carry our "work" into the next AC game, unless it's mind-blowingly awesome, then i probably won't get it...

Well I did buy a 3ds JUST for new leaf (and haven't bought any other 3ds games either) so if it was an actual game then yes I would :3

I wouldn't, unless Nintendo lowered the price of the Wii U again, because it's really quite expensive for what it is, especially when you compare the specs with other consoles.

Also they'd need to release a new Zelda game that isn't a Wind Waker remake.

Then, and only then, I may consider buying a Wii U.

I personally don't like Animal Crossing on a console like the Wii U. I think it's much better on a handheld because of Streetpass and things like that. I might get the Wii U for it, but I don't see them making one soon because it took them forever to make New Leaf.

I would definitely get a Wii U for animal crossing. Since I already had plans to get one if a game I liked cam out on it. Animal Crossing on a Large Screen yay! So much easier for me.

I got a DS Lite mainly for Wild World and I upgraded to a 3DS XL because of New Leaf. At this point I think I prefer my AC game to be portable. I would welcome the Wii U version of the game if it gets a lot more content... or if Nintendo releases an adapter for the 3DS to connect to the Wii U, so we can play on the TV screen with the option of going mobile.

If its just a new leaf port with one added feature like how CF was just wild word then I'll pass but if they add a bunch of new features and things to do then I would

I bought my 3DS XL just for New Leaf. Also since Pokemon X wasn't too far down the road. But I don't see myself buying a Wii U just for Animal Crossing. I actually don't see myself buying a Wii U at all. Especially with the release of Xbox One and PS4 that I plan on buying for my brothers, I'm going to be broke for a long long time.

To me, buying a system just for a strict minimum amount of franchises is missing out a big chunk of gaming experience from what the system would provide. And while you're at it, have you considered trying different titles on your current/older systems? You might end up liking a game better than the franchises you'd normally stick with, or even further experience gaming.

idk i feel like they wont make an ac for the wii u. but if they did, they better have added many new features. that and i would have to see some games that the wii u has to offer. idk i wouldnt buy the wii u solely for ac so

+1. I love The Wind Waker HD, Assassin's Creed 4, Miiverse and the Art Academy app on the GamePad for the Wii U. I only get my 3DS out to play New Leaf. I don't really like the tiny (and pixelated) screen of portable consoles.

No. The console's expensive enough as it is. Plus you can't take it anywhere which wouldn't give me much freedom to play it.

i like the pictures people upload on there. lol

I bought my 3DS almost only for New Leaf, so yes, I probably would. ;)

But I'm planning to buy a Wii U in a few months, anyway. A new Animal Crossing game would be nice, although I think they work best on handhelds like New Leaf and Wild World, because you can take them with you and play in between.
