Would love some town advice!

I have decided (again!) to reset my town. I feel really ugh about my town at the minute and want a fresh start. That being said, I was wondering if anyone could give me some inspiration. Do you have a plan when you start your town or do you just go in however?

I can hack so I'm not hugely bothered about villagers etc, I'm more fussed about the look. Are there any good tumblrs you know of that have beautiful towns?

Well, I reset a lot. You can ask the people on here, they know all about it. I reset my town yesterday and I decided that I'm winging it. I even got my town name, Ossipri, from a random name generator so I wouldn't even have to think about the name. I'm not plot resetting either. I put paths down where I don't want villagers to move, but other than in front of my train station and town hall, villagers can move whereever they so please. I'm not planning things, just taking it day by day. I'm not planning spots for future PwPs that I'm not close to getting. And I'm not landscaping until all my villagers move in that way, I'll know what I have to work with.

So in all, just taking it day by day without obsessively planning things. It's a lot more fun when you aren't trying to control every aspect of the town.


Also, I'm going theme less. Because it's a lot less stressful not having a theme than waiting for suggestions for PwP projects with a certain theme.

I think I might go for the same thing. I think I'm having the same problem, trying to control everything too much. I can move things round if they're TERRIBLE but I don't want to over-hack (until I get to landscaping mode and I need hybrids!) Thank you though, that makes me feel much better - hope all goes well with Ossipri!

I'm not that good with advice but start with a theme for your town (foresty, fairytale or zen).
Paths, trees and bushes are really good as they are the layout of the town and make it look really organized. Also hybrids and flowers, try out different color combinations which match and make the town look aesthetically pleasing

I've never reset my town so I just went with the flow and made adjustments if I wasn't pleased with it.

If you've heard of mischa-crossing, she has a whole playlist where she visits dreamtowns on youtube. It's nicer than looking at edited photos on tumblr I think personally c: Plus you can really get the feel of the town.
