As everyone else has said, as long as the dialogue doesn't make you bored of those villagers - go for it!
Just make sure you have the other personalities as well to get the pwp's you like. the jock and uchi have some realllly nice pwp's.
& as for the shirts - switch out able sisters default shirts to hats/umbrellas. and send them 3 shirts a day. I just did that with chief since he changed it and I needed to sell him as 100% original. it worked first day I sent them c:
