Wisp isn't spawning?

Okay. So I'm playing new leaf on a new town and I was gonna break out some amiibo cards when I realized I hadn't gotten wisp's lamp yet. No big deal. So I spent a good part of the last hour HUNTING around town to no avail. I've done the tutorial with Isabelle, I've gone to retail, gone to The Nooklings and the able sisters, met Harvey, and even paid for my house to be built tomorrow, but Wisp hasn't shown up. Any ideas why or how I could fix it?

It'll take up to 4 days for him to appear to my understanding.

That's weird... cause in my other saves he appeared the day of starting, right after you saved, met pete and got the instruction manual from Nintendo

Well as I said up to, he randomly appears within 4 days, there's no set day, you were just lucky to get him on the first before.

I think in my case I heard him calling out on the third day. I was surprised because New Leaf is my first AC game, so I knew nothing about Wisp beforehand and didn't expect it with the update
