I really want to breed blue roses (without buying them from someone else to help me get started) Will this setup work?

The two red roses were made from the purplexorange roses :)

Where I'm stood is some buried fertilliser.

Wait, do you need that fence to breed them? Or is it to keep them safe?

It should but the fence may pose a problem with the rate of spawning.

Yes, but I believe only your two hybrid red roses have a chance of spawning a blue rose, and there's only two possible spaces for a blue rose to spawn. You may want to consider isolating them in a different part of town without a fence, so there are more possible plots for blue roses to spawn.

Also, the fence can be used to prevent villagers from plotting their houses on your flower family- which is why I use them.

You can spawn blue roses from
2 hybrid red roses
a hybrid red rose and an orange rose
or
2 blue roses

So you might want to get rid of the purple rose, because it won't be much help and will take up space.

I've heard that people use the beach for flower breeding. Not sure if it works since I haven't tried it myself but it sounds legit!

Yeah the beach is a valid steal-and-trample-free zone.

I tried the same as you with hybrid red roses spawned from orange/purple parents. After 2 months I still had no blue roses. This while I had set hybrid red roses up in five diagonal pairs of 2 and watered them with a golden watering can. Even with the right setup it seems the chance is like 5% or lower that you'll actually spawn one.

Good luck with trying however, I hope you will manage to pull it off!

I spawned one once a long time ago from the purplexorange then the two reds.... then reset my town thinking "No big deal I can do it again." and so far....it hasn't happened again. However today I just reset my town...again...so lets see. lol

Good luck to you though. :)

It should work, but like everyone else said, you should probably move them somewhere else. The beach is a good place because visitors hardly ever go down there, and they shouldn't get trampled. (●?∀`●)
